BOUQUETS FOR MOTHERS’ DAY SNEAK PEEK

April is the time to start preparing for Mothers’ Day … so Stampin’ Time classes this month will be doing just that.

This month’s class theme is BOUQUETS FOR MOTHERS’ DAY … although other sentiments will be on the table for you to choose from … sadly, not everyone still has their mother with them.

We will create beautiful, feminine cards to give at Mothers’ Day or to save for upcoming birthdays … all very feminine and soft … using the gorgeous Birthday Bouquets DSP from the Occasions Catalogue.

The choice of sentiments is yours … to create three beautiful cards for the wonderful women in your life.

Here is a peek at part of one of the cards … featuring a little water colouring.

  • class and the Birthday Blooms stamp set for $45 [clear mount] or $60 [wood mount].
  • class, Birthday Bouquet DSP and the Birthday Blooms stamp set for $65 [clear mount] or $80 [wood mount].

Just let me know on the day if you want to order the stamp set.

Hope to see you at Stampin’ Time.

STAMPIN’ TIME CLASS … SUNDAY 13TH MARCH

I’ve just finished putting the finishing touches on next week’s projects …

I love to travel and when the Occasion’s Catalogue showcased GOING PLACES, I knew this had to be one of our Stampin’ Time themes.

The projects next week will feature the Going Places DSP Stack, Going Global stamp set and World Traveler TIEF [textured impressions embossing folder] … and will create a travel journal and six small gift cards.

* class and a bundle I have put together for you – stamp set, World Traveler textured impression embossing folder and the Going Places DSP stack for $70 – clear mount or $80 – wood mount .

There is only class scheduled this month as the second class would fall over the Easter long weekend … however, I am happy to arrange an alternate date if there is enough interest.

WINGED GIFT BOX INSTRUCTIONS

I have been asked by a couple of people to post the instructions for the Botanical Gardens Winged Gift Box that was posted a little while ago …

IMG_1241

Those coming along to my February Stampin’ Time class will be making this gift box as well as a greeting card and gift tag.

So … if you can’t make it along, you can still make the gift box. It has hinged cover panels that open out like wings … to reveal whatever treasure you place inside.

This was inspired by the Winged Gift Box posted on Youtube by Elizabeth from Crafts by Happy Stamper … thank you Elizabeth for sharing this.

# colour error – I used Delightful Dijon rather than Hello Honey

Project Recipe:

  1. Cut:
    * one 8 1/4 by 8 1/4 piece of Basic Black card
    * two 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 pieces of Basic Black card and
    * three 2 58 by 2 5/8 pieces of Botanical Gardens DSP
  2. Take the large Basic Black card square and score at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2.
Turn the card 90 degrees and repeat the scorelines.
Take a bone folder and burnish the scorelines.
  3. Cut each of the four sides as shown in the sketched outline below ….
Use tear and tape adhesive or other strong adhesive to assemble the gift box base.
  4. Take the two 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 Basic Black card pieces and score at 2 3/4 twice to create four segments.
Take a bone folder and burnish the scorelines.
Trim three sides back and score the fourth, as shown below – image with DSP triangles.
  5. Cut along one the bottom right hand crease line, as shown in the same image.
  6. Take the three square DSP pieces and cut in half diagonally. Adhere three of the DSP triangles to each of the black winged bases, as shown before.
  7. Use a strong adhesive, such as Tombow, to secure the triangle without DSP to create the hinged top piece, see the pencil instruction in the last image.
  8. Using a strong adhesive, attach the winged top pieces to the gift box base.
  9. Attach the ribbon securely to the base of the gift box and secure under the flowers.
[An optional 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 piece of basic black card can be adhered to the base of the gift box to ensure a very secure attachment of the ribbon.]
  10. Using scraps of the coloured card stock, found in the supplies list, to stamp, cut and sponge the leaves and flowers illustrated.
Adhere securely with glue dots and/or adhesive.
Attach basic black candy dots and white perfect accents to the centres of the flowers.
  11. Using the Botanical Gardens Designer Washi Tape cover the edges of the winged hinge and trim.
