WEATHER TOGETHER …

December 4, 2016

Stampin’ Up! has a WEATHER TOGETHER stamp set and UMBRELLA WEATHER framelits die set in the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue.

There are lots of cards and project ideas available to use as project inspiration – from the catalogue itself, Google images, Pinterest … and these are all a great place to start.

After that, I begin to think about how I can use these in other creative ways … here are my projects …

Top left card … totally CASEd from the catalogue [p.55]

Bottom right card … inspired by Breast Cancer Awareness …

Using the umbrella frame stamp in a different way … upside down to collect raindrops …

… I haven’t made a Magic Slider Card in a long time …. time to reveal …

… a brighter side to the raindrops before.

So, after ‘typically’ uses of the stamps, what else can you do?

Try turning things around …

Before this card was made, the original idea came from television – Charlie and the Chocoloate Factory was being advertised as a film to be screened in the next week or so. I had been playing with this round stamped shape and realised that it was just like an EVERLASTING GOBBSTOPPER …so this was the first project …

Please note that the background was created using an inked acrylic block as demonstrated by Rich at On Stage Live.

CALENDAR UPDATE …

I have just finished adding details for my Stampin’ Time classes for the first six months of 2016 … most months will feature a class based around a stamp set from the Occasions catalogue.

The class will usually be offered twice … on the second and fourth Sunday … unless there are holidays or other life events, including:

… one date change (from the 14th February to the 21st).

Details of the stamp sets and pricing for each month are now available on my calendar (What’s On page) and the sidebar.

I am very excited that the Occasions catalogue event is only a fortnight away and I have been having a wonderful time working my way through both the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogues CASeing many of the projects the amazing SU design team created to show us some of the great ways to use all of these new goodies …

Here is a recent reinvention of a project from p25 of Occasions – I have not ordered the Pyramid Pals bundle yet but have the Starburst Sayings stamp set … so … this is how I was inspired by one idea to create a card variation … and, the leaves thinlit from Rose Garden is going to be very handy!

BUG TIME

I have started preparing for my Occasions catalogue and Sale-a-brations event …

# make and takes finalised – 5 gift tags, a 3″x 3″ gift card and 2 standard sized cards with coordinating envelopes

# product playground ideas tested

# and, CASEing the catalogue almost finished.

I have CASEd several projects that are found in both the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues … these will part of a product display on the day.  [CASEing = copy and share]

Our Stampin’ Up! catalogues are an amazing source of inspiration …

… here are three cards inspired by the products and cards on page 15 of the Occasions catalogue … two are my interpretation of the cards featured and one of my own design … all featuring the Beautiful Ride stamp set …

Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White and Basic Black – I love this combination … throw in a little Everyday Chic washi tape, a staple and some dimensionals …

IMG_1339

I used the Shimmery White cardstock for this watercolour effect … so quick and easy …

Perfect Plum and Crushed Curry may not be everyone’s favourite combination but I think it works well … this is the first project that I have used paper from the Going Places DSP stack … it has an amazing range of designs and I can’t wait to play with it further. I also used some of the Botanical Gardens washi tape and the Project Life Let’s Get Away stamp set from the annual catalogue.

For me, Stampin’ Up! products are amazing … not only because of their design and quality, but for their coordination – you can mix and match stamp sets to create your own project, the colours coordinate across colour families and paper, the tools make crafting and creating easier and the embellishments let us add the perfect finishing touch!

… and I cannot wait to wake up in the morning and start creating again …
