BEING INSPIRED BY THE COLOUR InkSPIRATION CHALLENGE

Welcome to COLOUR InkSPIRATION CHALLENGE #184.

Today’s picture which has inspired our colour palette was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Alisa Tilsner.

As well as the chosen colour combination for #CI184 Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Azure Afternoon. Garden Green and Mossy Meadow, you may also add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Beige, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’, ‘Bronze’ and ‘Natural Tones’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have the colours in our palette, feel free to use the closest Stampin’ Up! (or any other brand) substitute – Boho Blue instead of Balmy Blue for example.

To get your creative ideas flowing, make sure you check out the Crew’s Project in the CI#183 Album – https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.1003303625064294&type=3

Challenge Guidelines:

· Create a NEW project made specifically for this challenge.

· Use all of the challenge colours (or close substitutions) unless stated.

· Upload only ONE picture per entry straight to the discussion wall and NOT in an album.

We hope you can participate this round and look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Happy stamping!

My youngest daughter recently told me that shw and a friend were teaching themselves to crochet.

For me, that brought back memories of Year 8 Home Economics and learning the same skill. I was totally useless at knitting but crochet was a better option.

I knew that I wanted to use the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder to make a card for her.

I used the CI#184 Colour INKspiration colours for this project – Azure Afternoon, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Mossy Meadow and Poppy Parade. I cut each of these colours into 1.5″x 1.5″ squares and adhered them to a piece of Basic White Card.

Then I ran this card throught the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder.

The greeting was created using the Mini Alphabet Die and Azure Afternoon card with Adhesive Sheet attached.

I used the Basic White Baker’s Twine and a small crochet hook to create a length of chain to tie a bow.

Finally, I added an individual embossed square to the card insert and envelope back.

WEDNESDAY IS A WONDERFUL DAY TO SHARE THE LATEST NEWS FROM STAMPIN’ UP!© AND ANOTHER PROJECT WITH YOU!

The new catalogue is on its way and if you have placed an order with me over the past year I have arranged for you to receive one very soon. Enjoy!

The projects I am sharing this week are using one of the new product suites that you find in the new catalogue. One of the great benefits of being a demonstrator is that I am able to preorder some of these new products before May 5th. If you would like to be able to do the same then you might like to think about joining Stampin’ Up!© … and you will also enjoy a minimum 20% discount on your orders. For more details contact me.

Today I used the frame die from the Gallery Blooms Dies set to to create the border for the ‘charcoal’ trees image.

After cutting the Basic Black and Basic Gray frames I positioned them carefully inside the Damask Designs Embossing Folder and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

The gray frame was adhered to the card front. Then I attached the DSP to the back of the black frame and added Stampin’ Dimensionals to it. This panel was then positioned within the gray frame.

The greeting, from the Beautiful Motifs Stamp Set, was stamped using Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad onto the same coloured card. I used one of the Unbounded Love Dies to cut this greeting.

The spare large black frame was placed on the card insert.

I stamped the damask image, in gray, across the back of the envelope.

Finally, I added some Basic Gray Pearls to the card front.

I would normally have a 3D project to share with you tomorrow but I’ve decided to share an extra Fun Fold Card this week.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking,

TUESDAY IS THE TIME TO SHARE A TECHNIQUE PROJECT

While I am still featuring the Beautiful Gallery Suite Collection, I wanted to use the stunning Beautiful Gallery 6″x 6″ DSP pack for this technique project.

There is a lovely Basic Beige and Basic Black floral line art design that I thought would be perfect for a focal point card.

I took two of the same 6″x 6″ DSP designs and trimmed them to 5 3/8″x 3 7/8″ panels.

I chose a flower from one of these DSP panels and cut a circle, using the Stylish Shapes Dies.

I used the Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends to colour the florals in the circle.

Before attaching this coloured circle to the card front I tied a bow and wrapped a length of the new Basic Beige Classic Ribbon around the DSP panel.

After that step, I added the coloured focal circle followed by the stamped and die cut greeting. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to add these elements.

Then I stamped the greeting, using the Beautiful Motifs Stamp Set and Petal Pink ink and then used a banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

I added strips of the DSP to the card insert and the envelope.

Finally, I added some pearls from the Basic Gray & Smoky Slate Pearls to embellish the card.

Tomorrow I have another card to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.
