IT’S FRIDAY & TIME FOR SOME FEATURES AND A FUN FOLD CARD

This week I have featured the FRAMES & FLOWERS 12″ X 12″ SPECIALTY DESIGNER SEREIS PAPER.

The Frames & Flowers Specialty 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Paper is unlike other patterned paper packs.

It has three sheets of double-sided designs with floral and greenery designs on one side and all-purpose patterns on the other. And it also has three sheets of die-cut greenery elements that you can use on card fronts or to frame photos on scrapbook pages.

As a fun plus, some of the die-cuts are sized to fit card fronts, making it easy to create quick, beautiful cards. This paper is a must for card makers and scrapbookers!

 The pack has 6 sheets of patterned paper: 1 each of 3 double-sided designs and 1 each of 3 single-sided die-cut designs, measuring 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm).

The paper is both acid and lignin free.

The product colours are Early Espresso, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Lost Lagoon, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock, Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce, andSoft Sea Foam.

This paper crafting staple is great scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more!

The card I have for you today is a fun fold card using one full 12″ x 12″ sheet of DSP.

The card measures 3″ x 3″ and is 3/8″ deep.

To make the card, inspired by a Facebook or Instagram feed I recently saw (but did not keep any details of), I took a 12″ x 12″ sheet of DSP and scored it at 3″, 6″ and 9″. Then I rotated the paper 90 degrees and repeated the scoring.

The next step was to cut 9″ along the 3″, 6″ and 9″ score lines on one side. The yellow lines, in the image below, are the cut lines.

The next step was to start in the bottom left corner and begin to fold each square onto the next and burnish as you go. The aim is to fold the paper so that only one side of the DSP can be seen and the other side is folded in on itself.

After you have made some really crisp, burnished edges you can unfold the paper and then glue it together.

Then I started to decorate each of the 16 3″ x 3″ ‘pages’.

The front card panel was decorated with a square, floral die cut panel from the DSP pack. I also added a Pumpkin Pie heart, cut using one of the heart dies from the Adoring Hearts Dies set.

I added lots of 2 3/4″ squares and elements from the DSP pack.

The white squares provide lots of places for birthday greetings and messages.

To hold the card in place when folded, I made a belly band and decorated it with a length of Iridescent Striped Trim that I coloured with the Light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. The ribbon was tied into a bow around the belly band.

The birthday greeting, from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set, was stamped in Pumpkin Pie on Basic White card.

Then it was cut using the second largest of the square dies, from the Stylish Shapes Dies, and then recut to create a rectangle. The greeting panel was then positioned over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I also added one of the flowers from the DSP pack to the band.

This was a fun card to make and I look forward to using this technique again.

This weekend I have two more projects to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.
