IN SYMMETRY

Hello to each of you! Thank you for taking the time to pop by and check out today’s offering.

Last week I shared a card using the In Symmetry Stamp Set. Today, I am using the same bundle but am focussing on the dies.

I wanted to create three of these amazing Batik floral shapes using three colours – Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy and Poppy Parade. The first step was to cut small pieces of the card stock and attach some Adhesive Sheets to one side. Then I ran each of the card stock pieces, with this die, through my Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (a.k.a. Mini Boss).

I carefully lifted the die cut card stock out of the die and separated the pieces. The next step was to position the Granny Apple Green outer shape in the centre of the Basic White strip of card stock – both horizontally and vertically. Then I placed the Poppy Parade and Night of Navy outer shapes, as you can see. I worked slowly then to remove the backing from the Adhesive Sheet to position the infill elements, rotating through the colours. Early in the project, I decided not to worry about retaining all the tiny circles of colour – let’s face it, that just seemed to me to be far too fiddly. I left these small spaces open to showing the Basic White.

Before I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the strip of Basic White card stock up onto the left hand side of the Night of Navy card base, I stamped this leaf image, in Night of Navy, onto the right hand side of the card base. Then I stamped the sentiment and trimmed it ready to attach using Stampin’ Dimensionals (if you know me, you will know that I love my Dimensionals and am not afraid to use LOTS of them).

For some bling, I used the Night of Navy Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels (I need to order some more soon!). And, last but not least, the same leaf image was tamped on the card insert and envelope.

I love the way this die cut inlaid card turned out. The colours are bold and bright, which is refreshing. There are many people that I can think of who I can send a thank you card to. Who would send this card to?

#challenge If you live in Australia and leave a comment on this post, I will ‘throw’ you into the hat and if your name is drawn I will send this card to you to send to someone else.

Happy stamping.
