GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT COLOUR CHALLENGE

This weeks #GDP353 is a colour challenge – one of my favourite challenges to aprticipate in.

In all honesty, I did not think I would my card finished and posted. My experience with COVID since testing positive on Tuesday has been a bit downhill. I started working on this card on Wednesday and spent Thursday slowly finishing it. Not quite the result I had envisioned but finished.

After spending a few hours at my desk looking at the card trying to work up the energy to take some photos so that I could add it to my blog. COVID had other ideas. My breathing had been very shallow all morning and I wasn’t feeling good. It was time to head up to the hospital for an assessment.

After nine hours, I was well enough to go home. I have some additional medications and have a follow up team contacting me each day – definitiely better than having to stay in hospital.

I am so pleased that I am feeling well enough today to be able to post my card.

I used the Bottled Happiness and Vintage Christmas Stamp Sets and the Vintage Bottle Punch for this project.

I stamped each of the bottles, several times on to Shimmery White cardstock, used one of the Water Painters to move the ink around and create a water colour wash. When the images were dry they were punched out.

Then I created the scene for the bottles. A white window arch and Blackberry Bliss window frame were cut using the Window Dies.

A window was cut away from the Soft Sea Foam panel before being embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

With everything prepared, I started layering all the elements – Basic White card base, panel of Blackberry Bliss card, the Soft Sea Foam embossed panel, a pie cut piece of Basic White to pop inside the window cutout the embossed layer, the white window arch with the bottles arranged inside it and finally, the Blackberry Bliss window frame. Lots of lovely layering, Tombow Multipurpose Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The ‘Sending Cheer’ greetings is from the Bottled Happiness Stamp Set.

The envelope and inside the card were both stamped with large Vintage Bottle image.

As each of the bottle images were inked, I also gave them a quick spritz of water, before stamping. Then I used the Water Painter to create small areas of water colour wash.

I hope that you like this card. I’m not sure what I’ll be up to tomorrow but definitely hope to have something to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.
