Hello to each you wonderful stamping enthusiasts who pop by to see what I’ve been up to – thank you!
For todya’s project I wanted to make a card that has a gap in the front – a window sheet card.
Anyway, I wanted to use the WRAPPED BOUQUET BUNDLE for the first time. I was ready for some colouring. And, I wanted to use some more of the amazing FINE ART FLORAL DESIGNER SERIES PAPER.
Living in Australia, I use A4 card stock and measurements that are different to the standard size cards made by crafters in the US and Canada. These are the measurements I used but I’m sure that they can be easily adapted to your preferred card size.
I cut a piece of Basic Gray card stock to have one piece measuring 5-3/4″x 5-5/8″ (14.6cm x 14.3cm). As soon as I cut the 5-5/8″ length, I scored that length at 1-1/2″ (3.8cm). This was then burnished and it creates the top piece for the front of the card.
Then I cut a piece measuring 5-3/4″x 1-1/2″ (14.6cm x 3.8cm), for the front card base.
The two pieces of DSP measure 5-5/8″x 1-3/8″ (14.3cm x 3.5cm).
A piece of window sheet, measuring 5-3/4″x 4″ (14.6cm x 10.2cm) is first adhered to the inside of the top front of the card. I used Stampin’ Seal for this. Then I added Stampin’ Seal to the back of the bottom panel. When the card was folded closed, I positioned the gray panel onto the window sheet.
I used the no line stamping technique to stamp and then colour the bouquet using Stampin’ Blends – Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Mango Melody. After I finished colouring the bouquet I used the coordinating die to cut it out. I cut a second bouquet piece in Basic White to glue to the back of the coloured piece to hide the colour that seeps through when using the Blends.
I stamped the newspaper print image onto both sides of a piece of Basic White card stock and then cut out the wrap shape. This die also embosses the crease lines needed to fold and burnish it into shape.
After I folded the newspaper wrap and then used a mini glue dot to secure the bouquet in place.
I placed some Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the back of the bouquet to secure it to the card front.
The sentiment ‘Love you bunches’ was stamped in Flirty Flamingo and then cut using one of squares from the STITCHED SHAPES DIES.
I also, partially, stamped the bouquet images onto the card insert and envelope. These were also coloured.
I like the way Basic Gray works with Flirty Flamingo. As you can see, the final touch was to add some PEARL BASIC JEWELS.
The WRAPPED BOUQUET STAMP SET also has a Mother’s Day greeting that could be stamped inside this card to make it occasion specific.
Make sure that you let me know what you think of this card.
Happy stamping!
