TAKE A LITTLE SNEAK PEEK

Hello and welcome! Thanks for popping by to see my latest project.

This week I am sharing projects using some of the wonderful new products that you will be able to order from August 3 – woohoo! It’s time for the July – August Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration Brochure.

It is Wednesday and it is time for another Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop.

This week we are giving a little sneak peek into the upcoming Mini Catalogue.

Today I have a Christmas in July card to share with you. It features the Whimsy & Wonder Suite. For this project I was inspired by a fun fold card video from Tami White. I adjusted the measurements to suit a quarter A4 base (5-3/4″x 4-1/8″).

After cutting the Misty Moonlight cardstock to the size I mentioned above, I cut a piece of the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper to 5-5/8″. Then it was scored along the 12″ side, from right to left, at 4″ and 8″ and 1″. After folding the DSP (you can see it below) Multipurpose Adhesive was used to attach the paper, bauble side up, to the card base.

I stamped the hanging baubles on the Basic White card insert, adhered it to a Misty Moonlight layer and glued it inside the card. The same image was stamped on the envelope.

I stamped one of the Whimsical Trees onto Blushing Bride cardstock and cut it with the coordinating Christmas Tree Dies. The greeting was stamped in Misty Moonlight and then cut out using one the Stitched Rectangle Dies – most of you know that this is one of my ‘go to’ die sets. It is so easy to use a die and reposition it to adjust the final size – totally versatile!

I used Stampin’ Seal+ to securely attach a length of Blushing Bride 3/8″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon to the 1″ folded piece of DSP. The Whimsical pink tree was placed over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment was then popped up on the tree using just a few more dimensionals.

As soon as the ribbon is tied into a simple knot, the card is secured.

Here are some images of the new products. I’m sorry that I didn’t have the stamp set on the top – I usually place the stamps on top. The image of the ribbon does not do it justice.

Make sure that you hop along and see what the rest of the Freshly Brewed crew have created.

Happy stamping.

#GDP302 – TIME FOR ANOTHER CHALLENGE

Hello and welcome! Thanks for popping by today to see my latest project. I am so pleased that you have.

This week it is time for a sketch challenge this week.

For this challenge I decided to make a Christmas in July card using the Whimsy & Wonder Suite.

I used one of the designs from the Whimsy & Wonder 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper to cut the 10 1/2″ strips that I adhered to a layer of Blushing Bride cardstock. Then I wrapped and secured a length of Blushing Bride 3/8″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon across the decorated layer.

The Christmas greeting is from the Sweet Little Stockings Stamp Set and was stamped using Blushing Bride ink. After trimming the greeting down, I cut a slightly larger Blushing Bride layer. I attached a Wonderful Snowflake on top of the pink layer and then, used Stampin’ Dimensionals, to pop the greeting up.

I cut two additional strips of the DSP to place inside the card and down one side of the envelope. The final step was to place some Elegant Faceted Gems on the card front.

There are some totally gorgeous new products about to be available and I have used some of them on this card. In particular, the Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon is going to be a favourite.

The small gaps between each of the strips of DSP remind me of pattern making/drafting when I would cut a pattern piece into strips and split and spread it open. It has been such a long time since I did any pattern making.

Until tomorrow, happy stamping.

IN WITH THE NEW …

Wecome to today’s project share. Thank you for popping by to check it out.

This week I am going to be giving you a sneak peek at some of the new products that are in the soon to be released July – Decemebr Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration Brochure.

Today I am featuring the Whimsy & Wonder Suite – Whimsical Trees Stamp Set, Christmas Trees Dies, Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper and Blushing Bride 3/8″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon.

The DSP is amazing – the colours are non-traditional Christmas colours! I’m sure that you’ll love the colours and designs – Polished Pink, Blushing Bride, Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron and Misty Moonlight.

For this card I used one of the DSP designs, cut it down to 5-1/4″x 3-5/8″ and adhered it to a slightly larger piece of Mint Macaron cardstock. Then I positioned it at an angle on the Blushing Bride cardstock, glued it in place and then trimmed the overhanging pieces.

The Christmas definition is from the Well Defined Stamp Set. It was stamped in Mint Macaron. After using a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut around the definition I looped and attached a length of the Blushing Bride 3/8″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon. After attaching some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of die cut panel it was positioned, as you can see.

I used one of trimmed overhang pieces on the card insert and adhered some of the DSP to the envelope. The final step was to add some clear Elegant Faceted Gems to the front of the card.

The Well Defined Stamp Set is perfect for all the holidays celebrated, in different places, during the second half of each year. As well as the ‘to’ and ‘from’ stamps, there are ‘definitions’ for ‘holiday’, ‘gratitude’, ‘winter’, ‘Halloween’ and ‘Christmas’. The only one that I might not use would be ‘Halloween’, the rest are great.

So, what do you think of the colour combination of the Designer Series Paper? I think that I might need some new decorations this year.

Happy stamping.
