FUN FOLD FRIDAY – A SHAKER CARD TO SHARE

Today’s type of card is always fun to make. Who doesn’t like a shaker card?

For this card I started by taking a piece of the alcohol ink coloured vellum and added it to the Night of Navy card base.

Then I used one of the Stitiched Rectangle Dies to create the frame for the shaker card. A piece of Window Sheet was adhered to the frame.

I added lengths of Foam Adhesive Strips around the underside edges of the frame.

One of the die cut Basic White pelicans was adhered on the vellum. Then I pooled a small quantity of the gold and white Sequins for Everything in the centre of the card front.

I pulled the tape from the back of the foam strips and was then attached to the front of the card.

To finish the card, I added two more pelicans to the card – one stamped and both die cut. The greeting was stamped on a thin strip of Basic White cardstock.

I cut three seagulls from a piece of Mother of Pearl 12″x 12″ Specialty Paper that had Adhesive Sheet atteched on the back. This made it easy to add them to the Window Sheet.

After two weeks, featuring the Waves of the Ocean Collection, it is time to move on to another collection.

Until we are all together again, happy stamping.

SHOW & TELL TIME TODAY

Normally I would be posting some Step It Up projects today but I still have two more cards to share during this weekend’s Show & Tell.

AS you can see, there are no waves or pelicans on this card.

I have used a Calypso Coral cardbase to feature the panel of White Vellum that was embossed using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder. I love the way the folder creates a whiter, almost wax-like, look to the embossed edges.

Then I used the Beautiful Shapes Dies to cut several hexagons from the Waves of the Ocean 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper. These were then glued into position, on a strip Petal Pink cardstock.

The sentiment banner was stamped and cut using the die from the Waves Dies. I took a length of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon and threaded it through the banner. A length of white twine, from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack, was used to hold the ribbon tightly in place.

I added a strip of the DSP to both the card insert and envelope.

The second card today uses a piece of the New Horizons 6″x 6″ DSP for the background. This DSP was placed on a Night of Navy cardbase.

I coloured the pelican using Gray Granite and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers™ directly on the stamp. Then I cut this shape using the Waves Dies. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to pop the pelican and pylons up on the card front.

The birthday greeting was stamped and cut. Several lengths of Linen Thread were cut before being tied in a knot halfway along the length. After I passed the thread through the other end of the banner, I tied a double knot and trimmed the ends. This gives the greeting a nice chunky finish.

The birthday greeting was attached to the card front with dimensionals.

I stamped the pelican on the envelope and inside the card.

A few of the Pebbles Enamel Shapes were placed at the base of the pylons.

Tomorrow is Monday and that is my day for memory keeping.

Until then, happy stamping.

IT IS SIMPLY SHOW & TELL THIS SATURDAY

Normally I would be posting some #simplestamping projects today but I still have several cards that I made for a recent presentation featuring the Waves of the Ocean Collection. So today and tomorrow I will share four cards with you.

For the first card today I stamped the wave image onto a piece of the Waves of the Ocean 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper. I used my Stamparatus to do this because it meant that I could add more than one colour to the image. I used Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Night of Navy.

I stamped and cut the sentiment banner before using two lengths of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon to thread through the spaces of the banner and tie a double bow. The banner was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used some of the Coastal Cabana Foil Specialty Paper to adhere to the card front before layering the stamped DSP layer up with dimensionals.

The card insert had the wave image stamped using Coastal Cabana ink. The back flap of the envelope had DSP added.

Finally, I added some Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels to the front of the card.

The second card features a reverse eclipse card.

I cut a piece of one of my alcohol vellum papers to adhere to a Coastal Cabana cardbase.

Then I took a Basic White panel and cut three pelican shapes from it. I coloured a length of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon with the Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend. After threading through the stamped and die cut greeting, I wrapped it around the white panel and tied a bow.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I lifted the white die cut piece up from the coloured vellum.

I cut two of the pelican shapes, from Coastal Cabana Foil Specialty Paper, and added them the card insert and envelope.

The final step was to add some Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels to the front of the card.

Another two cards that I am so pleased with.

Tomorrow I will have two more to share with you. Until then, happy stamping.
