AMOUR

I have seen lots of wonderful cards made using the sepia colouring technique. I have not tried this before, so it was time to give it a go.

The PARISIAN BEAUTY stamps was my go to set for this project. Crumb Cake was my base colour for the technique, but because I made this card for the #76 Colour INKspiration Challenge, three other colours were used – Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz and Pumpkin Pie.

When I think of sepia, I always think of very old, vintage photographs. To give the card a vintage feel I distressed the edges of the Fluid 100 Water Colour Paper and the Cherry Cobbler mat.

Each of the fleur de lis were stamped, water coloured, die cut and popped up onto a Dimensional and then given some Clear Wink of Stella attention.

Stamping off allowed me to achieve two different tones of the Crumb Cake for the script stamp. It was also an effective way to soften the other three colours when I stamped the fleur de lis banner stamp.

The Eiffel Tower stamp was mounted onto my Stamparatus because I stamped this several times to build up colour as I stamped, water coloured, dried, restamped and used markers to directly add colour to the stamp. It took several trials to get to the final image.

I thought that I’d share some close up images – it is interesting to see the way the layers of water colouring create a sense of texture.

Thank you to all those lovely crafters who shared their video tutorials.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

BIRD PUZZLE

I have been thinking of jigsaws, although we don’t have any. After we downsized, for our move to Brisbane last year, they were one of the items donated to a local charity.

So, I made my own 16 piece puzzle.

I stamped and water coloured my image using the FREE AS A BIRD stamp set, before dusting off my PUZZLE PIECES DIES and, hey presto, one jigsaw puzzle.

I love my messy water colouring.

The background flower was stamped using the Smoky Slate Classic Stampin’ Pad – but I stamped off first.

I had a relaxing time making this card, especially the water colouring.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping … and water colouring!

These are the products I used to make this card.
