LOVELY AS A TREE, after many years, is now retired and if you missed adding it to your stamp set collection then you will be looking for an alternative … and I have just the right set to recommend.

ROOTED IN NATURE joined the Stampin’ Up! ® stamp set family in 2018 and is a worthy successor.

This stamp set has 16 cling mount stamps.

There are: 4 tree stamps, 4 leaf stamps, 1 sprig/branch stamp,1 tree trunk cross section stamp and 6 sentiment stamps!

This versatile stamp set [148217] is on p148 of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue and is A$73. Even better – there are coordinating dies [146341] for A$68.

The three pine trees coordinate with a larger pine tree featured in the WINTER WOODS stamp set [151359] … and there is a great sample card shown on p149 of the catalogue.

Remember to look closely at the amazing projects featured in each catalogue. The concept artists use existing and new products to create these samples to inspire us and show us just how versatile the products are and can be.

Here are a few really quick and simple ideas I’ve put together …

Using just the Stampin’ Write Markers™ in Crushed Cury, Cajun Craze, Garden Green and Early Espresso, colour directly onto the stamp [from lightest to darkest], give a little ‘huff’ to moisten the ink and stamp.
The new 2019-2020 In Colours Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray are a gorgeous combination for this super quick and simple card.

The ROOTED IN NATURE stamp set gives you leaves, trunk and trees with sentiments for a range of occasions.

If you live in Australia and want to add this stamp set to your collection, contact me and I’ll help you place an order.

Each week, I will pop by and share a product from the current catalogue with you.

Happy Stampin’ Time.

NEW CATALOGUE … NEW BEGINNINGS

JUNE 4, 2019

I recently posted that I have relocated from Bargara to Kangaroo Point, Brisbane and that we are almost settled in.

I’ve unpacked most of my crafting supplies and am ready to get started.

Now that the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue has gone live – I’m ready for new beginnings.

The new catalogue is amazing and I will be posting some more details of new In Colours, product suites and tools and ideas over the coming weeks.

If you would like to receive a copy of the new catalogue, please contact me.

NEW BEGINNINGS …

Each week, I will be posting updates from Stampin’ Up! and about what’s happening here in Kangaroo Point.

Coffee and a Card gets underway next week – each Tuesday, from 10am, I will be at Melidrop Cafe [98 Main St] looking forward to enjoying a coffee and card making and meeting new crafters [or soon to be crafters] from the area.

If the Coffee and a Card sessions go well, I will look for a second venue for a Thursday gathering.

There will be weekly posts highlighting a product, or coordinating products, and sharing projects made using it.

Then comes Facebook Friday, as I go online to share highlights with you and show you how to make one of the product highlight projects.

Each month there will be at least one Class by Mail. There are details about this new class on the mmm…It’s Mail Time page – just along the top banner to find the link.

Next week, details of the DAISY LANE BUNDLE class by mail will be posted on Monday.

DAISY LANE BUNDLE coordinates with the Daisy Delight stamp set and Daisy punch.

There are more plans being finalised, a class schedule to be created and a venue for classes to be found but I am very excited by what lies ahead.

So … here’s to new beginnings!

Settling into a new routine …

16th May, 2019

The last 12 months have been ‘interesting’ and my posts became further and further apart.

A snapshot – my brother, sister and I decided that it was essential that we find our mother a new aged care facility and we found that at BUPA New Farm, where they cared for her so lovingly and professionally until she passed away in late October. Four days after her private family funeral service I was heading to Orlando for On Stage Live [it was all quite surreal, but a perfect tonic].

I farewelled teaching, after 35 years, with a wonderful farewell from the school I started and finished teaching at [with several others in between].

After Christmas, Rob and I started preparing our home, of 24 years, for sale. If you have done this you know it involves lots and lots of decluttering, cleaning, maintenance, organising tradespeople to come and fix things, painting, gardening, visits to the dump/tip/refuse and many more visits to charity organisations to donate those items not coming with us but too ‘good’ to dispose of.

The New Year saw our home listed for sale and the big FOR SALE sign erected outside our home. Each inspection and Open House brings the necessary cleaning, tidying and styling to ensure it looks inviting.

Then there’s the contract awaiting settlement [which is this Friday – yeah].

In amongst all this organised mayhem, we moved into our new home two weeks ago, today. Most of our boxes are now unpacked, we’re still awaiting some of our new furniture and we are feeling at home. Our views are pretty amazing.

A view from our balcony of the Story Bridge.
The view from our balcony across to the Brisbane River.

We have downsized from a large three bedroom home in Bargara to a two bedroom apartment in Kangaroo Point, Brisbane. I might have lost my own craft room but we have gained a well-appointed apartment within Yungaba [look at the photos with the heritage listed Yungaba House] … and I have plans for a wall unit with some crafting potential.

… and now I am planning my new Stampin’ Up! demonstrator routine … classes, workshops, launch events and online opportunities.

I am looking forward to re-connecting with existing customers and connecting with new crafters.
