WORLD CARD MAKING DAY 2021

Saturday was World Card Making Day and I spent some time making Christmas cards with a friend. They were great simple cards featuring the Tidings of Christmas 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalogue.

Each card has the same layout and greeting just different combinations of the paper and ink colours.

There are six different cards in total. Each card uses one sheet of paper and shows both designs. This is then repeated on the card insert and envelope.

Each card also has three Clear Epoxy Essentials that have been coloured using a coordinating Stampin’ Blend.

Here are the other five cards!

What do you think of these super simple Christmas card?

THE CRAFT OF GIVING

Hello and welcome. Thanks for popping by today.

It is Wednesday and time for this week’s Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop. The theme is the Craft of Giving. Projects could include a bag, box or gift card holder.

I decided to use the new Kraft Gift Boxes from the July – December Mini Catalogue for my project.

I used the Tidings of Christmas Suite, from the Annual Catalogue, as well. The first step was to remove the acetate piece from one of the gift boxes so that I could make a template to cut card stock and Designer Series Paper.

The first layer that I adhered to the lid of the box was a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock. I used the template to cut out the shape of the opening.

I used the same template to do the same with a piece of Tidings of Christmas 6″x 6″ DSP. After I adhered this piece to the lid of the box, I created a mitred Cherry Cobbler frame to coordinate with the strips of Real Red that I attached to the sides of the box.

A piece of Evening Evergreen was cut, using the template, and then embossed with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. It was then cut in half diagonally so that the gift could peek through.

I gathered up a length of Cherry Cobbler and Gold Metallic Ribbon to add to the card front – it almost looks like tinsel.

The stars from the Christmas Trimmings Dies were positioned using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then, I made the gift tags using the Tailor Made Tags Dies and Gold Shimmer Ribbon to decorate the tags.

To ensure the simple gift of chocolate doesn’t slide around, I made two inserts to hold it in place.

What do you think? Would you like this gift?

Make sure you hop on over to see what the other Freshly Brewed crew have made.

Until next time, happy stamping.

BRING ON CHRISTMAS

Hello and welcome to today’s Christmas in July project. Thank you for popping by.

With only 5 months and 3 days until Christmas, I thought that I would share a new card using some of the new products that will be available from early August.

I used the Sweets & Treats and Classic Cloche Stamp Sets for this one. The first thing I did was choose the Designer Series Paper and colours that I wanted to use. The DSP is from the Tidings of Christmas 6″x 6″ DSP. The colours I used were Basic White, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate and Shaded Spruce.

I started by stamping, colouring and fussy cutting the pudding, cloche dome and cake stand. Then I stamped the pudding onto the card base several times.

A piece of DSP was attached to a panel of Shaded Spruce cardstock. I trimmed it back to achieve this irregular rhombus before adhering it to the card base.

I added the pudding and stand to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some Clear Wink of Stella was added white pudding top, holly leaves and cake stand. I used some Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels for the ‘holly berries’ and the ‘mixed dried fruit’ in the pudding.

The pudding image was also stamped inside the card and onto the envelope. Finally, I tied a bow using Metallic Mesh Ribbon and secured it to the cake stand with a Mini GLue Dot.

I think that you are going like these two new stamp sets – I know that I am looking forward to creating more projects using them.

What do you think? How would you use this card? I think that it would make a great family Christmas invitiation.

Happy stamping.
