HALLOWEEN FUN

It is Wednesday and it’s time for a Freshly Brewed Project Blog Hop. This week’s theme is Halloween.

May be an image of coffee cup and text that says 'Freshly Brewed PROJEGTS'

Just like my pumpkin themed card yesterday I didn’t think that I had a stamp set that I could use. That was until I found the Banner Year Stamp Set.

I also had one of my lovely Coffee & Card ladies recently say that one of the stampes from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set reminded her of a ghost – so I combined the two for this card.

I started by choosing the colours for the card – Basic Gray, Basic White, Smoky Slate and Black.

The ‘ghosts’ were stamped using Smoky Slate that I stamped off first. Then I fussy cut the ghost and brushed it with Clear Wink of Stella.

For the background panel I stamped the cobweb image from the Banner Year Stamp Set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The ‘boo’ was stamped using Basic Gray ink.

The bats were stamped in black and, once dry, painted with Clear Wink of Stella.

Before adding the bats and ghosts to the stamped layer I wrapped and tied some Metallic Mesh Ribbon around it. The ghosts and bats were then added using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish the ghosts I added some Matte Black Dots.

Then I stamped and trimmed down the ‘happy haunting’ greeting before using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.

I stamped the same greeting and bats on the card insert. The bats were also added to the envelope.

For someone who “doesn’t do Halloween” I am really happy with the way this card turned out. What do you think?

Make sure you pop by and see what the rest of the Freshly Brewed Project Team have created.

Until next time, happy stamping.

TIME FOR A LITTLE MORE COLOUR INKspiration

Hello and welcome to each and everyone of you who have popped by to see my latest project. I am so very delighted that you have shared your time with me.

This project is for the #CI103 colour challenge.

May be an image of text that says '#103 Bumblebee Pale Papaya Soft Succulent Evening Evergreen COLOUR s SPIRATION CHALLENGES'

I love the rich, tropical colours that are inspired by this image.

Although it is very tropical, I decided to use a stamp set that has no floral or leaf images. I definitely wanted to try something completely different. So, here it is!

I decided to use the new Delivering Cheer Stamp Set from the upcoming Mini Catalogue. There are lots of elements in this card – let me take you through each step.

The first step was to cut and adhere a piece of Silver Foil to a panel of Bumblebee cardstock. Then, it was passed through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the new Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. These layers were then adhered to an Evening Evergreen cardbase.

Using the Delivering Cheer Stamp Set, from the July-December Mini Catalogue, the upper and lower halves of the ‘person’ were stamped and then coloured using Stampin’ Dimensionals – using Evening Evergreen, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends. I also used Clear Wink of Stella to add shimmer to the skirt and elements of the gifts.

I fussy cut the skirt section and the gifts section, before adding Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the two elements so that they could be elevated on the card front. The birthday greeting is from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set. It was stamped in Soft Succulent ink and cut using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The greeting also has Dimensionals used to pop it up and tuck it under the Dark Evening Evergreen shoes.

A length each of Evening Evergreen, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon was cut in half lengthwise and with one half of each colour then tied into a bow. This triple ribbon was then attached to the ‘skirt’ using a Mini Glue Dot.

The gift box image was then stamped onto the card insert and envelope. Finally, I added some 2021-2023 In Colour Gems.

I always love the way that I can use current and new products together to create a unique, new project. This card turned out sooooooo much better than I thought it would – doing my happy dance!

What do you think? Do you like the glimmering Soft Succulent skirt? What about the triple bow at the waist? And, the gift boxes?

Who would you send this birthday card to?

I am looking forward to creating more projects using the Delivering Cheer Stamp Set.

Happy stamping.
