SURFING SANTA FINDS HIMSELF ON A FRIDAY FUNFOLD CARD

I think this is one of easiest funfold cards to make.

Using a standard card base fold it in half and burnish the fold using a bone folder. Then fold the front panel of the card base in half back on itself and burnish it also, creating a little Z style fold.

The card base is Azure Afternoon and I used some of the Brights 6″x 6″ DSP in the same colour to fill the panels.

For the white panel I used the largest of the circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut two.

The Santa image was stamped on one circle then coloured, sporting more of a tan this time.

I cut around the bottom of the surfboard so that it could be popped up over the stamped waves image.

Inside the card, I added two Basic White panels and stamped some waves and a sun on one of them.

To finish the front of the card I added a small square die cut greeting and some Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots.

A sun was stamped on the envelope as well.

Next week I will likely start sharing some projects using new products from the upcoming January – April 2025 Mini Catalogue … I’m so excited by the goodies that have arrived with my pre-order!

Until then, happy stamping.

TIME FOR A 3D GIFT BOX WITH A WAVE INSPIRED

As I was stamping the wave image, for yesterday’s project, I had an idea start to develop in my mind.

I wanted to see if it would create an interesting pattern if rotated around a central point – so, I began experimenting.

And, this is the result.

I cut a piece of Basic Thick White card, measuring 5″x 5″, and then lightly marked the card into quarters.

The wave image was stamped around each horizontal/vertical quarter and then stamped between each of these images. The resulting pattern has 8 wave images rotating through the central point.

The Azure Afternoon gift box measures 5 1/2″x 5 1/2″x 3″. The lid is only 1″ deep.

Across all sides of the lid and box base I added panels of Azure Afternoon striped DSP.

The greeting is from the Iconic Imagery Stamp Set and was heat embossed in WOW Black Embossing Powder and cut using one of the Iconic Imagery Dies.

A few Mini Glue Dots and some strategically positioned Rainbow Dots were the perfect way to attach the greeting to the card front.

Tomorrow I have a slightly more tanned surfing Santa card to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.

EVERY CHRISTMAS NEEDS A SURFING SANTA!

As the title of today’s post suggests, my projects for the rest of the week will be showcasing the Surfing Santa Stamp Set.

As much as I love the idea of a white Christmas, I don’t think that it has ever snowed on Christmas Day where I live. So I am always excited when Stampin’ Up! introduces Christmas images that are perfect for the Southern Hemisphere.

For my first first card, I started by stamping the waves using Azure Afternoon ink and a masking technique align them and create a rolling set.

The next step was to stamp, colour and fussy cut this super cool Santa, hanging 10 on his board. This is day one of his surfing safari and he doesn’t have his summer tan yet.

I used the cutting blade attachment on my Take Your Pick tool, to cut into one of waves so that the board could slip in under it.

Then I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the gift boxes that Santa was trying to deliver on his board.

When I found this surfing Santa styled gingerbread in a local shop I knew that I needed to buy it for this photo!

I stamped the wave on the card insert and the back of the envelope to have everything coordinate.

The sun was stamped, using Daffodil Delight, on a piece of Basic White card and then cut using one of the circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

The greeting was also stamped in Daffodil Delight on white card and then cut using the largest banner die from the same die set.

Lots of Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to pop the sun, banner and gift boxes up from the card front.

Tomorrow I have a 3D project to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.
