Colour INKspiration #149 – Earthern Textures

Welcome back for another Colour INKspiration challenge. This inspiration picture which has inspired our colour palette was chosen by Crew Member, Lou Kitzelmen.

As well as the chosen colour combination for #CI149, Fresh Freesia, Moody Mauve and Misty Moonlight, you may also add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, and metallics to your project. We also allow Ivory, Bronze and Natural Tones in Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have the colours in our palette, feel free to use the closest Stampin’ Up! substitute.

To get your creative ideas flowing make sure you check out the Crew’s Projects in the CI#149 album.

My contribution features the Earthern Textures Stamp Set and coordinating Dies.

This card has a full size back and half front. After adhering panels of the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper, I attached two pieces of Basic White cardstock that were cut using the Deckled Rectangles Dies.

The three planter pots were cut from DSP using the Earthen Textures Dies. Then I cut the palm fronds and long slender leaves branches from the three Challenge colours card stock.

As you can see, I alternated the colours across the pots before adhering them to the Deckled Rectangle layer. The tallest pot was adhered directly onto the deckled layer while the other two pots were attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Earthern Textures Stamp Set and was cut using one of the banner dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

The card insert and envelope were both stamped using one of the images from the stamp set.

The card was finished with a few Moody Mauve gems from the 2023-2025 In Colour Dots.

My favourite die from this set is the palm shaped die that also embosses crease lines so it can be folded. Who thinks of this stuff? Totally awesome!

I hope to have lots more posts to share with you soon!

Until then, happy stamping.

Colour INKspiration #147 – SEA TURTLES

Welcome back for another Colour INKspiration challenge. This inspiration picture which has inspired our colour palette was chosen by Crew Member, Nikki Spencer.

Picture credit – Painting by artist Barbara Rosbe Felisky  https://i.pinimg.com/originals/11/b9/52/11b95228437cb63f975edb39c2ed1a86.jpg

As well as the chosen colour combination for #CI147, Very Vanilla, Copper Clay, Pool Party and Lost Lagoon, you may also add Basic White, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, and metallics to your project. We also allow Ivory, Bronze and Natural Tones in Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have the colours in our palette, feel free to use the closest Stampin’ Up! substitute.

To get your creative ideas flowing make sure you check out the Crew’s Projects in the CI#147 album.

My contribution features the Sea Turtle Stamp Set and Patchwork Pieces Dies.

Using the splatters folder, from the Stripes & Splatters Embossing Folders, and the Patchwork Pieces Dies, I prepared the Lost Lagoon and Pool Party piecesto create the textured waves background.

The Copper Clay layer was embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

After I adhered the waves panel to the base layer, I took a length of Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon and unravelled it to create individual strands. These were then wrapped around the layers and tied in a bow. A mini glue dot was used to secure the bow.

These layers were then adhered to the Very Vanilla cardbase.

I two-step stamped three turtles and fussy cut them out. Using Stmpin’ Dimensionals, the turtles were positioned to appear that they were ‘swimming’ through the waves.

The sentiment is from the Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set and cut using the smallest stitched square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I used Dimensionals again to give the sentiment height.

I stamped the smallest starfish image inside the card and on the envelope.

Finally, I popped a few Lost Lagoon gems from the Tinsel Gems Three-Pack and painted the turtles with Clear Ink of Stella.

It has been so much fun this week to work on four Colour INKspiration challenges – woohoo – I am ahead! I hope you check out the other three projects over the next month or so.

Until my next post, happy stamping.

HERE IS MY GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #GDP352 SUBMISSION

This week, the GDP team have a CASE project to inspire our creativity.

We are challenged to CASE a Susan Wong project. If have not seen Susan’s creative projects before, you really need to start following her – wow, wow, wow!

Make sure that you click on the image below and you will go directly to the GDP website to see all the projects the team have created this week.

For my CASE, I am working with colours and shapes.

I started with Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody cardstock and then used the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut the hexagonal borders. After I adhered the three borders to a base layer of Basic White cardstock, I embossed it using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.

Multipurpose Glue was used to position the embossed layer, diagonally, on the card front. When the glue had dried, I was able to trim off the overhanging embossed white cardstock.

Then I added some more die cut shapes to the card front, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting, from the Handmade Wishes Stamp Set, was stamped in Flirty Flamingo onto Flirty Flamingo cardstock. This was then cut using one of the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Before adding this greeting hexagon to the card, some Basic White Essentials Twine was looped and secured in place. Dimensionals ensured this hexagon popped up from the card front.

Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels were coloured using the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends Pen. I coloured three large and three small jewels and added them to the card.

I need to be honest and say that I have no idea what I will be creating and sharing tomorrow.

Until then, happy stamping.
