GROWING UP WITH TERRACOTTA POTS IN THE GARDEN

I have always loved terracotta pots and the colour of red clay.

For this project I needed to use Cajun Craze as my terracotta standby … and, it is a great colour substitute.

My plan was to create a card that incorporated lots of stacked pots with several of them having luscious plants growing in them.

The Copper Clay card base had a Basic White panel adhered to it.

My next step was to stamp, colour and die cut the five stacks of pots.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the carrots, lettuces, strawberries and radishes; as well as the garden trowels.

After adhering the three background pots, I adhered the plants and gardening tools to the four pots that were then added to the front of the card. These four pots overlapped the three background pots.

I added Adhesive Sheets to the back of some Lemon Lime Twist card and used the Alphabet A La Mode Dies to cut the letters for ‘GROWING UP’.

‘Growing’ was added to the card front.

The card insert had a stamped pots image and the word ‘UP’ added.

The same pots were stamped on to the back of the envelope.

This card was so much fun to create.

Tomorrow I have a scrapbooking page to share.

Until then, happy stamping.

MR McGREGOR NEEDS SEEDS FOR HIS GARDEN

Today is Thursday and that usually means it is time for a 3D project.

I decided to use the Pocket Thoughts Dies to make a small envelope to hold some packets of seeds.

The pocket envelope base was made using Old Olive card. After assembling the base I cut and trimmed two panels of the DSP and adhered them to the front and back of the envelope ‘box’.

I stamped and coloured 4 sets of pots before die cutting them. One was added to the back of the box. For the front, one of the set of pots was stamped with a greeting and then partially coloured. The remaining two were coloured in the same way as thepots on the back of the box.

The envelope gift box holds three to four seed satchets very easily.

This makes a great gift for any green thumbed friend.

Tomorrow I have a lovely blue card to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.

WELCOME TO 2025 & A NEW YEAR OF CRAFTING AND CREATIVITY

Today, January 7th, is the launch day for the new January – April 2025 Mini Catalogue.

It has been a couple of weeks since my last post but with Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, and recovering from a nasty little respiratory virus, I have taken some time out.

Today I want to start sharing projects inspired by one of the new Suite Collections from the new Mini Catalogue.

The STORYBOOK MOMENTS SUITE COLLECTION is absolutely adorable. I was immediately reminded of the collection of children’s books written by Beatrix Potter featuring so many glorious animal characters. My daughters loved these stories when they were young.

The suite collection is made up of two stamp sets, two coordinating dies bundles, two Designer Series Paper packs, Scalloped Ribbon and Antique Pearls.

If you decide to order this Suite Collection, in Australia, you will pay $273.75 (plus postage) AND, until the end of February (or while stocks last), be able to order close to 3 FREE products from the Sale-a-bration Catalogue (each $100 in an order qualifies for a FREE item. There are 2 items requiring a $200 order).

For my first post I wanted to show you that one of the best places to start is with the catalogue.

The project images that are included in the catalogue are created by the amazing Stampin’ Up! concept artists working in the Riverton home office near Salt Lake City, Utah. If their work doesn’t inspire you, or get your creative juices flowing, I’m not sure what will.

Today I will show you 7 projects that I CASEd from pages 23-27 of the Mini.

The first project on p.23 is this cute twisted gift bag – you will be amazed by how easy this is to make.

I used a 6″x 6″ piece of the DSP and double sided tape to create the bag. The stone wall was stamped using Pebble Path and then the rabbit and plant were chosen from the die cut DSP sheets.

Before attaching the square piece to the bag, I took a length of the Petal Pink Scalloped Ribbon and looped it behind the panel.

The next project is a card using direct stamping on to a Basic White layer.

Each of these images are in the Storybook Garden Patch Stamp Set and the greeting is from the Storybook Friends Stamp Set.

I estimated where the images should be stamped, based on the card image in the catalogue. Then I took my coordinating Stampin’ Blends and coloured the stamped images.

The DSP layer, and envelope panel, comes from the Timeless Plaid 6″x 6″ DSP pack.

The next card uses some of the Storybook Garden Patch coordinating dies.

The designs in the Timeless Plaid 6″x 6″ DSP are so varied, adding so much opportunity for creativity.

I must confess that my white heat embossing was not as good as I would have liked – I will say that it was feeling unwell that contributed to my loss of quality control.

The thin die that produces the small cuts in the’soil’ layers is fabulous for tucking the carrots, radishes and trowels into.

I really like being able to decorate the back of each envelope with either a stamper image or some DSP. It is a great way to tie everything together.

The next card is a mini slimline card.

Each of the images were stamped, coloured and die cut before being positioned over the two angled DSP panels.

Using Stampin’ Blends for the colouring gives such a wonderful finish to images – light and shade.

The next project was a framed decor piece in the Mini Catalogue. I estimated the dimensions and interpreted the catalogue image to create my version. It’s not the result i had hoped for but is reasonably close. I think I will come back to this project in the future and make another attempt.

There are a few differences between the catalogue project and my version – some colouring and a ribbon swap.

Now on to the 3 projects from pages 26-27.

This card showed a great way to use the die cut images from the DSP pack, as well as a coordinating card base and some of the Timeless Plaid DSP.

The greeting was stamped and then cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Finally, there is the Boho Blue square card from page 27.

The card has a Basic White underlayer that is stamped and water coloured. Then there is an overlayer of Boho Blue with a circle die cut from the centre and several cottages stamped across it.

The greeting was stamped on a narrow strip of Wild Wheat card using Pebble Path ink, then postioned across the circle opening using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The hedgehog was stamped. coloured and die before being popped up to the left of the greeting.

OOPS – I just turned to the next two pages of the Mini Catalogue and discovered there are three more projects. I will try to come back to these later and CASE them as well.

So, what do you think of the catalogue projects that you can use to inspire your creations when you add this collection to your crafting collection.

These new products are not yet available on the program I use to create the list of products that you can use to order them. Hopefully, I will be able to add this list to today’s post later in the day.

Until then, happy stampng.
