A CHRISTMAS THEMED CARD FOR #GDP319

This is the last Global Design Project card I will be sharing for 2021. Next week Rob and I are off to Tasmania for a couple of weeks and then, a few days after we return, we will be heading to Noosa for an extended family Christmas.

This week’s theme is –

I decided to go right to the middle and choose Christmas trees as my inspiration.

I used the Stitched Triangle Dies to cut lots of gray and silver trees from a variety of papers – Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper, Black Glitter Paper, Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Designer Acetate and a small scrap of retired Silver Foil.

After choosing a Basic Gray card base, I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

I layered the tree triangles across the card front using Multipurpose Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to create height and depth.

The silver star was cut using the Stockings Dies.

I love the way the silver foil and acetate reflect light and make the card shine.

I added a tree to the card insert and envelope to tie all the elements together.

There is no extra bling on the card – all the silver is more than enough.

The greeting, “this wondrous season”, is from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set and was stamped in Basic Gray onto a piece of Peaceful Place Specialty DSP. It was trimmed down and then layered across the trees at the bottom of the card.

I’m looking forward to rejoining the Global Design Project challenges next year.

Until next time, happy stamping.

FUN WITH PATTERNED PAPER

Hello and welcome! I am so delighted that you have popped by today. It is Wednesday and it is time for another Freshly Brewed Project Blog Hop.

This week’s theme is Fun with Patterned Paper. I decided to play with one of the amazing FREE Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper packs – Penguin Playmates 12″x 12″ DSP. If you live in Australia, you can ‘earn’ this DSP pack with a minimum $90 order.

For this card, there is not a penguin in site. I used the alternate designs to create this card.

I know that I should be able to tell you the ‘right’ name for this card style, but I’m really not sure. The photos should tell you everything you need to know.

The small front panel has a layer of Misty Moonlight cardstock with several triangular pieces of the DSP radiating from the centre.

The greeting, from the In Symmetry Stamp Set, was stamped and fussy cut. Then I added trimmed Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop each word up to achieve height. The fianl touch, for this layer, was to add a few Opal Rounds.

When the smaller front layer is opened, you will find the full card front and the inside of the front flap, which can hold a gift card.

When the card front is opened, there is the card insert – a perfect place to write your message to the recipient of the gift card.

I finished the envelope with one of the die cut triangular pieces of DSP.

The sentiment, ‘Best Day Ever’, is perfect for so many different occasions. And, on those occasions, a gift card can be the perfect present.

How would you use these products? What would it look like?

Make sure that you pop by and see what the other Freshly Brewed Project team members have created:

Happy stamping.

TRUE LOVE TRIANGLES

Hello my crafting friends – I am so pleased that you have popped by.

I have used the TRUE LOVE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER again for today’s project. This time I teamed the DSP with the STITCHED RECTANGLES DIES to create a decagon shape. I left it open, and popped up, so that I could inset the final two triangle pieces into the space.

This gave me a chance to showcase all 12 designs of the DSP. And they pop against the Mossy Meadow card stock. I deliberately chose not to add any colour to this card other than the card stock and stamped sentiment.

I used the VINE DESIGN BUNDLE to stamp and die cut the sentiment banner.

This was also a perfect time to use some MATT BLACK DOTS.

One of the ways I enjoy using DSP is to use a strip of it on the inside of the card and on the back flap of the envelope.

Cutting the triangle shapes was so quick and easy using my MINI STAMPIN’ CUT & EMBOSS MACHINE – I call it my ‘little ‘boss‘ and my full sized machine my ‘big boss‘.

I’m very pleased with the way this card turned out. I really enjoy playing with new products AND new ideas.

What do you think?

I need to use my STITCHED TRAINGLES DIES more often!

Thanks, again, for popping by … happy stamping.
