A WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY WELCOME TO THE LATEST Colour INKspiration CHALLENGE

This Colour INKspiration challenge features the new 2022 – 2024 In Colours. Here is the image that inspired this challenge.

I decided to use all five – I know. Crazy, right?

I used the new Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder and decided to use the In Colour Stampin’ Blends to colour the flowers and leaves. When I finished colouring, I realised how much the embossed layer looks like coloured embossingpaste.

I used Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet to colour the embossed layer. The card base uses Starry Sky cardstock.

The greeting was stamped using Tahitian Tide on Basic White. I cut a piece of Tahitian Tide cardstock to adhere the greeting. The spiral torn paper die was used for the top of this piece.

The embossed layer and greeting piece each had Stampin’ Dimensionals added so that I could pop them up on the card front.

To finish the card, I added some Brushed Brass Butterflies – on the card front, inside and on the envelope.

Tomorrow I will have a 3D project will share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.

WHEN IT COMES TO TECHNIQUES THIS IS ONE OF THE SIMPLEST

Today’s technique is one the easiest that exists. It is so simple that this will be a very short post.

It is a great technque to use when you have black and white Designer Series Paper. It is so easy, a small child could do it.

Take a look!

This is black and white piece of All Together DSP had alternate spots coloured in using a Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend. I did say it was easy.

The DSP was cut into two pieces – a 5 spot by 5 spot and a 1 spot by 5 spot. These were then adhered to a Real Red layer that was then added to the card base.

By colouring some of the white spots, the DSP takes on a completely different appearance.

The heart hands were stamped and cut. Then I popped Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the hands and added it to the card front.

I tied a loose single knot in a length of Real Red Faux Linen Ribbon and secured it under the sentiment panel. After dimensionals were placed on the back of the sentiment, I added it to the card.

I might try and focus on different colouring techniques over the next few weeks. What do you think?

Tmorrow is the day I share challenge and blog hop projects.

Until then, happy stamping.

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY – TIME TO SHARE A NEW TECHNIQUE EACH WEEK

Today’s technique is an oldie but a goodie. I’m sure that most of you will have used this in the past.

It’s time to SPOTLIGHT an area of the Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper. This DSP and the coordinating Friendly Hello Stamp Set are available for you to select this FREE bundle if you place a minimum $180 AUD order during Sale-a-bration.

I started by stamping the bird image onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Black Tuxedo Memento ink. Using the second largest Layering Circles Die I cut the image out.

I cut a piece of DSP for the card front and then aligned the die cut circle over the the bird image on the piece of DSP. Two pieces of Post-it tape was used to hold it in place. Then I tucked a Post-it note under the circle so that I could stamp the Fresh Freesia flower, Granny Apple Green leaves, Shaded Spruce splatter and buds.

Then I used Stampin’ Blends to colour the bird image.

I took a length of Pale Papaya and White Woven Ribbon and pulled up a couple of threads to create a ruched ribbon. I wrapped and secured this behind the DSP layer and adhered it to the card front.

After adding Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the circle layer, I positioned it carefully over the bird image on the DSP layer.

I stamped the bird image on the card insert and the front of the envelope.

The usual, final step was to add some embellisments to the front of the card. The 2021 – 2023 In Colour Jewels were perfect for this card.

I think that I will use this card for a Coffee & Card class.

Tomorrow is Wednesday and I have something new to announce.

Until then, happy stamping.
