MAKING YOUR OWN BACKGROUND PAPER

Hello and welcome. If you are returning, a huge thank you. If you are new, I’m so pleased that you found me.

As promised, I’m not posting my cactus cards day after day, just every other a day. Only five more to go – only ten days.

For this card, I stamped my own Designer Series Paper using some of the stamps from the FLOWERING CACTUS STAMP SET.

The two flowers were also stamped onto the card insert and envelope.

I used Terracotta Tile and Pear Pizzazz. Then it was adhered to a piece of ‘real’ DSP.

The prickly pear was fussy cut from the DSP and adhered onto a die cut piece of Basic White caard stock. The

The felt flower is a cute finishing touch to the terracott pot.

I have a question for you. Should I make cards that have different folds to the tent fold card I make most of the time?

Please let me know what you would like me to make and share in the future.

Happy stamping.

WATER COLOURED CACTUS

Hello to my creative friends – thanks for popping by again. I truly appreciate your support.

I have a friend who really likes succulents and has them in her garden and in lovely wide, shallow pots.

This is a card I made on a recent Facebook Live. I wanted to do some messy water colouring and overlay the die cut frame over the top.

I used the widest of the set of three WATER PAINTERS to swirl splotches of colour onto some FLUID 100 WATERCOLOUR PAPER. Once it was dry, I adhered the overlay piece of Basic Gray card stock that was cut using one of the POTTED SUCCULENTS DIES.

The birthday greeting is from the FLOWERING CACTUS STAMP SET and it was cut with one of the other POTTED SUCCULENTS DIES. These two product bundles (medley) work very well together.

The other twine found in the product medley is Calypso Coral. I teamed it with the Basic Gray Twine from the WELL SUITED TWINE COMBO PACK.

Another feature of the product medley is the packet of felt floral shapes in both Calypso Coral and Highland Heather.

It’s been fun using these new products and each time I finish one, I’m ready to move onto another.

Happy stamping.

DESERT LIME

Hello and thank you for popping by.

When you start creating with new products do you just keep making different projects?

That’s what I found I was doing with the SIMPLY SUCCULENTS BUNDLE and the FLOWERING CACTUS PRODUCT MEDLEY. In a day, I made seven cards and a gift box. I’ll post them on alternate days to make sure that I don’t bore you.

I found a bar of coconut and desert lime soap when I was shopping the other day. The desert lime was close enough for me to make a cactus/desert inspired gift box.

The design of this gift box is very similar to the card I shared on the 24th.

I used the same DSP and colours and colouring techniques.

I used a small LAYERING CIRCLES DIE to cut a semicircle to make it easier to lift the lid.

I added five of the Cinnamon Cider 2020-2022 IN COLOUR ENAMEL DOTS to the front of the box.

The natural twine in the product medley was used to tie this triple bow.

This will make a lovely little gift to have on hand for that moment when I want to thank someone for an act of kindness.

Happy stamping.
