HOLIDAYS = CREATING TIME …

This is the first time, in 30+ plus years as a teacher, when I have not touched any schoolwork (yet) … that equates to four weeks of holidays!!

There may have been some domestic chores to deal with and Christmas preparations & celebrations … but, most of this time has been indulgently spent crafting.

After returning from a few days in Noosa – catching up with my sister and brother and their families, I have been back in my ‘craft cave’ preparing samples to display at my Occasions Catalogue event at the end of January.

I have been re-creating many of the projects found in the catalogue and creating a few of my own …

This is my interpretation of the ‘Going Places’ framed image – page 38.

I re-created the ‘Missing You’ card from p21, using the Happy Home stamp set … and, loving the kite scene stamp, created this card using the Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set ‘Sky is the Limit’ along with ‘Happy Home’ and the window thinlit from the ‘Hearth & Home’ thinlits dies.

Finally … after re-creating the ‘Welcome Baby’ card from page 24, I created this ‘Welcome Home’ card – it is hard to go past primary colours – in this case – Crushed Curry, Real Red and Night of Navy.

In the past two days, I have crafted almost 25 cards … holidays are amazing … however, it is back to school for me next week …my goal for 2016 is to be creative every day and post at least twice a week … let’s see how I go!!

BUG TIME

I have started preparing for my Occasions catalogue and Sale-a-brations event …

# make and takes finalised – 5 gift tags, a 3″x 3″ gift card and 2 standard sized cards with coordinating envelopes

# product playground ideas tested

# and, CASEing the catalogue almost finished.

I have CASEd several projects that are found in both the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues … these will part of a product display on the day.  [CASEing = copy and share]

Our Stampin’ Up! catalogues are an amazing source of inspiration …

… here are three cards inspired by the products and cards on page 15 of the Occasions catalogue … two are my interpretation of the cards featured and one of my own design … all featuring the Beautiful Ride stamp set …

Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White and Basic Black – I love this combination … throw in a little Everyday Chic washi tape, a staple and some dimensionals …

I used the Shimmery White cardstock for this watercolour effect … so quick and easy …

IMG_1336

Perfect Plum and Crushed Curry may not be everyone’s favourite combination but I think it works well … this is the first project that I have used paper from the Going Places DSP stack … it has an amazing range of designs and I can’t wait to play with it further. I also used some of the Botanical Gardens washi tape and the Project Life Let’s Get Away stamp set from the annual catalogue.

For me, Stampin’ Up! products are amazing … not only because of their design and quality, but for their coordination – you can mix and match stamp sets to create your own project, the colours coordinate across colour families and paper, the tools make crafting and creating easier and the embellishments let us add the perfect finishing touch!

… and I cannot wait to wake up in the morning and start creating again …
