BIRTHDAY STARS

Hello my crafty friends. Thank you for popping by to see my latest project.

Today’s project is for the current Colour INKspiration challenge #CI105.

May be an image of flower and text that says 'Eme COLOUR NKSPIRATION CHALLENGES #105 Very Vanilla Mango Melody Fresh Freesia Old Olive'

It would too easy to make a card featuring flowers because of this gorgeous colour combination. So I decided to try something different.

I cut 1/4″ and 1/2″ strips of Fresh Freesia, Mango Melody and Old Olive card so that I could create a floating strips card.

I used the Stitched Stars Dies the cut several different sized stars. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to ‘float’ them above the embossed base layer. The new Star-Crossed Embossing Folder was used to create the stars background.

The birthday greeting was cut using the Birthday Chick Dies and Foam Adhesive Sheets.

The party hat and birthday cake images are from the Party Puffins Stamp Set. I fussy cut and coloured them to coordinate.

The birthday cake was stamped on the card insert and then coloured. I added one of the stars to the front of the envelope. After I took these photos I went back and added some Clear Wink of Stella to the cake and hat.

I achieved the ‘not a flower in sight’ idea and am so happy with the end result.

This is a really cheerful birthday card. Who would you send it to?

Until next time, happy stamping.

EARLY BIRTHDAY CARD

Hello and welcome to another project post. Thanks ever so much for popping by.

Today’s card is quite the achievement for me. So often I am late with my sister Karen’s birthday card. Well, it is August 5th and her birthday is September 24th. I am totally organised this year (I just need to remember to post it on time).

I decided to combine the Days to Remember and Party Puffins Stamp Sets. This card needs to be heaps of fun.

It also needs to be a ‘go big, go bold’ type of card. Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight seemed like perfect colours for Kas’s card.

I chose a Misty Moonlight based design from the Beauty of the Earth 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper to use as a background to the calendar and partying puffins. Before adhering the DSP layer to the card base, I wrapped and secured two lengths of Magenta Madness 2020 – 2022 In Colour Ribbon.

To stamp the calendar I used my Stamparatus to ensure great alignment. Can you guess the date of her birthday? I used the Magenta Madness Stampin’ Write Marker to colour the circles in the party hat.

The puffins, as you can see, are boldly pink! They were fussy cut and then ‘painted’ with CLear Wink of Stella. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the calendar and puffins onto the card front.

The birthday cake was stamped and coloured using coordinating Stampin’ Blends. After fussy cutting the cake I used dimensionals to raise it to the same height of the puffins and calendar.

I stamped some candles onto the front of the envelope and ‘happy birthday’ on the card insert. The final step was to add some 2020 – 2022 In Colour Square Gems.

So, what do you think? Do you think she’ll like her card this year?

Until my next post, happy stamping.

PLAYFUL PENGUINS

Hello! Thanks for popping by for today’s project share.

I am so excited to show you this card – it is super cute!

The Count on Me Stamp Set features six awesome animal images – a bear, a kiwi, a fox, a kangaroo, a penguin and a pair of koalas.

Today, it’s all about the penguin.

I started by choosing the Designer Series Paper – Pattern Party 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This is only available through Stampin’ Rewards. For this card I decided that the rows of colourful hearts and semicircles of dots would be perfect. From there I decided to use Granny Apple Green cardstock for the base. I cut the DSP smaller than I usually do so that I could angle it on the card front.

I stamped the penguin image three times – once as a mirrir image. Then I coloured them using coordinating Stampin’ Blends. The three images were cut using one of the Layering Circles Dies. I also cut three coordinating scalloped circles, using the same dies set. The circles were adhered to the scalloped circles and then popped up on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut six extra balloons to add to the circles. They were popped up on dimensionals so that they looked as though they were floating with the penguins. The birthday greetings are from the Party Puffins Stamp Set. They were stamped onto Bermuda Bay cardstock using the same coloured ink, before they were trimmed and placed where you see them. The penguin was also stamped, with some colouring, on the card insert and the envelope. The final touch was to add some Clear Wink of Stella on the balloons.

Lots of lovely Stampin’ Blends colours for this cute and colourful card. I cannot wait to make some more projects using this stamp set.

Do you have someone, in your life, who loves penguins? My daughter’s room mate does, so I think she will keep this for her birthday.

Happy stamping.
