CHOCOLATE TIME!

Hello and welcome to my latest project share. I am so pleased that you taken the time to pop by.

Today’s project is a simple 3D gift box. It was designed to hold a lovely, large block of Whittaker’s Hazelnut chocolate.

The gold and dark brown colours of the chocolate packaging inspired the colours used for the gift box.

I used 12″x 12″ Early Espresso cardstock, Gold Brushed Metallic cardstock, Gold Shimmer Vellum and White Vellum. The flip top gift box was constructed first. Then the top and sides of the box had slightly smaller pieces of Brushed Metallic cardstock secured.

A piece of Early Espresso cardstock was stamped using greetings from the Nothing’s Better Than Stamp Set – ‘Today’s Plan: Consume’ and ‘ Because Adulting is Hard’. This peice was then embossed using the checks from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder.

A matching length of Gold Shimmer Vellum was cut using one of the Basic Borders Dies. It was adhered to the embossed Early Espresso layer. Then a piece of White Vellum attached as well. Black Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to pop this layered panel in the centre of the gift box top.

The ‘Chocolate’ was cut using one of the Love You More Than Dies. A piece Adhesive Sheet was attached to the back of the foil before cutting.

Several stamped and die cut chocolates were also added to the top of the gift box.

Finally, a length of Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim was tied around the gift box to hold the lid in place.

mmm … it is a very tasty looking block of chocolate!

Who would you give this to?

Until next time, happy stamping.

CASEing FOR GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #284

Hello and thank you being here. I am so pleased that you are popping by to see what my latest project is.

So, my new Friday posts will be a project from the Global Design Project’s weekly challenges.

This week, the challenge is to CASE a card by Krista Frattin, a talented GDP team member from Canada.

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

The tip we are given is that when you CASE a project, you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.

I chose to go with the layout and definitely changed colours, stamp set and dies.

It was time to dust off my NOTHING’S BETTER THAN STAMP SET, LOVE YOU MORE THAN DIES and PAINTED LABELS DIES.

I’m not sure if the RAINBOW GLIMMER PAPER will carry over into the new 2021 – 2022 ANNUAL CATALOGUE, so I definitely want to use it up and I knew that it would be great for this card. Bright, bold and shimmery!

I decided to use the SUBTLES 6″x 6″ DSP – the new designs that will be in the upcoming 2021 – 2022 ANNUAL CATALOGUE. As a demonstrator, I was fortunate enough to order all four colour families and the 2020 -2022 In Colours DSP packs during Sale-a-bration. By using it here on this project, I hope that you will like the pattern well enough to add the new DSP to your collection.

I think that I am going to remove the bow – what do you think? I think it needs to be black or gone.

Happy stamping!
