TEA OR COFFEE?

Today I’m joining in with the gals from the Freshly Brewed Blog Hop.

Perfect name for the blog hop given this week’s theme! So what is your prefence – tea or coffee?

I start my day with a couple of cups of tea and move onto coffee a little later. Dare I say, I used to drink far more coffee that I do now.

I decided to make a coffee shaker card for this challenge – and, yes, that’s real instant coffee in the jar.

I have used a Crumb Cake card base. The smaller layer, in the same colour, has had Soft Suede ink flicked onto it. Then I ‘stamped’ the coffee cup rings using the base of a sponge dauber.

The coffee beans, from the PRESS ON STAMP SET, were stamped in Soft Suede, as well, onto a piece of Whisper White card. Then it was passed through my amazing STAMPIN’ CUT & EMBOSS MACHINE using the OLD WORLD 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER.

Using the JAR PUNCH, I created the space to adhere the MASON JAR SHAKER DOME to the white layer. Once I added some coffee I placed a piece of WINDOW SHEET over the back of the dome to hold it in place.

The two stamped and embossed coffee cups were cut from the jar shape. The cup shape is from the LOVE YOU MORE THAN DIES. The third cup was cut from a piece of DSP from the NEUTRALS 6″x 6″ BUNDLE.

I also stamped the jar lid using the JAR OF FLOWERS STAMP SET. A bit of fussy cutting and the lid is ‘off the jar’.

The final part of the card is the sentiment which is from the NOTHING’S BETTER THAN STAMP SET.

I used my trimmer to cut some of the sentiment and fussy cut the rest.

Now it’s time for a coffee.

Make sure you look at all the projects shared today. Here is a list of those hopping along today.

SECRET SANTA GIFTBOX

When I was teaching, I enjoyed being involved in the fun of Secret Santa. It usually involves picking a name out of ‘the hat’. Over the period of a couple of weeks, I would then leave a number of small, inexpensive surprises on the recipient’s desk.

For this Secret Santa gift, I made a box that would hold a number of Starbuck’s coffee capsules.

I used one of the house images from the COMING HOME STAMP SET. It was stamped twice, using Memento, before colouring them with Blends – Balmy Blue, Sahara Sand and So Saffron.

Balmy Blue was the perfect choice because it matched the colour of the pencil I used as the carrier. Along the sides of the box I added some of the CLASSIC CHRISTMAS 6″x 6″ DSP. Because the gift box is actually 6.5″ long, I cut the DSP in half to leave a gap. The gap was covered with a square piece of the card stock and a stamped and die cut coffee cup.

Three of the coffee capsules were secured in place by using some dimensionals.

The next gift box I make will hold only three capsules.

I would like to think that most people would be happy to receive this as a Secret Santa gift. Would you?

Do you take part in Secret Santa at your workplace?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

SNEAKY CHOCOLATE CARD

I recently watched a video from Erica Cerwin (Pink Buckaroo). She was making a Double Slider Card, using the Campology Stamp Set.

It was great to be reminded about this card technique – I haven’t made one in years!

Erica used a trail mix sachet in her card – I’m much older and will be using chocolate.

And, I knew that I had at least one block of Lindt chocolate in the pantry – so I knew what to do!

mmm … this is great way to give someone special chocolate!

We all know that chocolate – good chocolate – is a great way to celebrate and has health benefits – it’s true!

The NOTHING’S BETTER THAN STAMP SET and coordinating dies were absolutely perfect for this project.

The REAL RED CARDSTOCK matched the Lindt packaging perfectly.

I need to make lots more double slider cards.

What do you think? Would you like this as a gift?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.
