GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #347

My project for each weekly Global Design Project would normally be posted each Wednesday. I created it on Wednesday but can post it today.

This week’s #GDP347 is a Theme Challenge. So I went in search of some leaves that I could use with the Lovely in Linen Suite products, which are my featured products for the week.

Along with the Lovely in Linen 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper, I decided to use the Twigs & Brigs Dies and Embossing Folder as well.

I started with an Evening Evergreen card base and a piece of Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent DSP.

My next step was to use the Twigs & Sprigs Embossing Folder to emboss the Basic White layer, which was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

After this, I embossed and die cut the leaves to use on the front of the card. They had dimensionals added before positioning them over their corresponding leaf on the Basic White embossed layer. Some of the leaves were then trimmed back to the edges of the card.

The leaf textures created by these new products are amazingly diverse.

I’m not so sure why I added the Lasting Label Punch to the product image and omitted the Opal Rounds. Oops.

As today is actually THursday, I will share a 3D project soon.

Until then, happy stamping.

AS FRIDAY ROLLS AROUND AGAIN, IT IS TIME FOR ANOTHER FUN FOLD CARD

I love Fun Fold Friday – because I am learning how to make so many more cards than I knew existed!

This is the first time that I have made a Bay Window Card. Fortunatley, I found lots of information online and I adapted what I found to suit my Australian measurements.

I started with a card base, measuring 11-1/2″x 4-1/8″. Then I scored along the 11-1/2″ side at 1/2″, 1-3/4″, 4″ and 5-1/4″.

After scoring the front of the card, I cut panels of DSP to fill the scored spaces.

For the cenre front panel, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock and some DSP.

Then I stamped the sentiment on to a piece of Basic White cardstock, before punching it out with the Lasting Label Punch. I used a Sponge Dauber to add some colour to the outer edges of the punched layer.

Each of the front, side panels had DSP strips added.

For the anchor point, holding the ‘bat window’ in place, I used the Lasting Label Punch to punch and then trim a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock. After it was positioned to the right of the “bay window”, it created a perfect anchor point for the card front. Once in place, I added one of the embossed and die cut leaves from the Twigs & Brigs Dies.

To finish the card, I added some Pale Papaya Opal Rounds to the card front.

When the right-hand side of the card front tucks in, under the partial label and leaf shape to the right, the Bay view card is evident.

Inside the card, there is a Basic White panel for personal greetings to be left.

This is such an amazing Fun Fold card to create. I love it when I create cards using techniques and folds that I haven’t used before.

So – Fun Fold Friday is done and dusted!

Tomorrow and a new week begins. I’m not sure which bundle or suite I will feature yet. So, check back in tomorrow to see what I have chosen!

Until then, happy stamping.

TIME FOR A TOOTSIE ROLL & 3D THURSDAY

We have an amazing ‘little’ grocery store close to us that sells a fantastic variety of products. When I recently spotted a Tootsie Roll, I knew that I needed to buy it and create a gift box for it.

I continued to feature some of the colours and products from the Lovely in Linen Suite Collection.

If you have easy access to Tootsie Rolls, these are the measurements used to make this box.

I started with a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock measuring 9-1/2″x 4-1/2″.

Along the 4-1/2″ side, I scored the card at 1/2″, 1-1/2″, 2-1/2′ and 3-1/2″.

Along the 9-1/2″ length, I scored at 1’2″, 1-1/2″, 8″ and 9″.

Then I used my Bone Folder to burnisg these score lines crisply.

I have not yet created an instruction sheet for this project. For those of you with lots of gift box experience – I trimmed the 1-1/2″ ends of the goft box to create a box end and tuck in flap.

For each of the gift box sides, I cut pieces of Designer Series Paper to complete each of the four sides.

I used some Stampin’ Seal+ to attach a length of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon to the back of the box. Then I was able to wrap a length of the ribbon around the box.

After securing the ‘cheers’ sentiment panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I was able to tie the ribbon into a bow.

When creating a 3D gift box, you don’t always need a huge variety of products.

Tomorrow I have a Fun Fold card to share with you.

Until the, happy stamping.
