SNAILED IT GIFT CARDS

Hello to each of you – my wonderful crafters who pop by to see what I have been up to. I truly appreciate that you do.

After sharing my 3″x 3″ HEY CHICK and HEY BIRTHDAY CHICK GIFT CARDS BOX on Monday, I decided to make a similar collection using the SNAILED IT BUNDLE – the SNAILED IT STAMP SET and coordinating SNAIL DIES.

These 3-1/8″x 3-1/8″ ACETATE CARD BOXES are very useful. They can fit four cards and envelopes easily. My previous project had eight gift cards, so the envelopes were placed behind the box and secured with a twine bow.

For this box of gift cards, I used White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon to finish off the presentation. The ribbon was secured to the bottom of the Acetate Box with some STAMPI’ SEAL +. Then I made a panel to pop onto the front of the box, popped up with dimensionals.

These are the four gift cards I made. I wanted to focus on stamping and colouring, using the Stampin’ Blends. I am pleased that I made three Basic White cards and one Poppy Parade card.

I used most of the colours from the BRIGHTS family for this project – I wanted it to bright and playful.

Here’s a closer look at each of them. The snails are soooooo cute!

I think that I might make an additional four gift cards and use the SNAIL MAIL DESIGNER SERIES PAPER. This will then give me another bundle of eight fun gift cards.

So – which is your favourite?

Happy stamping – and, colouring.

SOME CHICKS 4 YOU

Hello to each of you lovely crafters who pop by to see what I have to share today. I appreciate that you take the time to check in.

I had wanted to start on this project during a recent Facebook Live but totally ran out of time. So, here is what I made.

I wanted to make one 3-1/8″x 3-1/8″ Acetate Card Box so that I could make lots of 3″x 3″ cards to pop inside. I actually made 2 boxes and 8 cards per box but needed to place the envelopes behind the acrylic box. To hold them in place, I used some of the white twine from the SNAIL MAIL TWINE COMBO PACK to keep everything in place.

The bellyband was made by using a 2″ strip of Bermuda Bay card stock and a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock that has been cut using one of the dies from the SNAIL DIES set.

The ‘4’ is from the PLAYFUL ALPHABET DIES and the ‘you’ is from the WELL WRITTEN DIES. Everything we have in our crafting collection from Stampin’ Up!© is able to be used across varying bundles and suites.

This very funky chick was stamped and coloured using Stampin’ Blends.

These are the first four cards that are included in the box.

These are the next four cards.

The cards that feature the eggs also have ‘you’re a good egg’ greeting stamped inside.

Let me share a closer look at each of these gift cards.

Each gift box contains the same eight gift cards as well as envelopes. I think this makes a great little gift for someone – after all, who doesn’t need to have birthday cards on hand?

Leave a message and tell me which is your favourite. Who knows, I might it to you as a thank you for taking the time to comment.

Happy stamping.

HEY CHICK!

Hello and thank you for popping by to see today’s project. I hope you like it – please leave a comment to let me know what you think – I love hearing from you.

When I saw the HEY BIRTHDAY CHICK STAMP SET in the January to June Mini Catalogue, it reminded me of the HEY CHICK STAMP SET from a Sale-a-bration brochure a few years ago.

Then, I was so pleased to see that the HEY CHICK STAMP SET has been brought back AND that there are bundles for both stamp sets that have coordinating dies.

For a recent Facebook Live I made a card with a simple pop up mechanism.

I wanted to have my chicks (chooks in Australia) fly the coop.

Because I wanted my first escaping chick to be the feature, on the front of the card, I chose to create a simple background for her. I cut a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and carefully teared the hilly slope. I used some IN GOOD TATSE DSP, to cut the chicken coop, so that I had a rustic, wooden structure.

For each of the three birds I coloured, I used the same colours but in different sequences. They are kaleidascopes of colour.

I stamped the greeting onto a scrap of card stock and cut it using my CLASSIC LABEL PUNCH. To ensure that I could pop it up on dimensionals and have ‘her’ hold it in her wings, I stamped her onto a sticky note so that I could cut out a mask. Then I needed to use my Stamparatus to stamp the image onto a piece of Stamparatus Grid Paper. I was then able to place the greeting and position/adjust the mask. Once I was happy with the positioning, inked up the stamp and add her wingtips to the greeting. Then I added the matching colours using my Stampin’ Blends.

Open the card and see the surprise inside.

Making the pop up mechanism was quick and easy. This is the ‘sample’ card I made and learned lots about how to make it easier the next time around, including placing all the background elements – wire fencing and corn – before positioning the pop ups.

I felt so connected with the people who watch my Live. During this Live, my friend from the US (Fran Ward) shared her knowledge of corn. My placement of the corn cobs, in this first card, was not ‘accurate’. So I was able to put the cobs on the stalks more accurately on my Live card.

As you can see, these next two birds, are equally as colourful, as they fly away. They are flying above the picket fence, past the bags of cornmeal.

I forgot to include the envelope in my photo – it has a Granny Apple Green balloon on it.

I was so happy with my Facebook Live version of the card. I did want to move onto a second project but this Live had already gone for over an hour. Tomorrow’s post will be the project that I hoped to do during the Live.

Happy stamping.
