RAINBOW GEARS

Who said all things mechanical needed to dark and greasy!

For this card, I wanted to make a more feminine, geared up, birthday card. I can see this card being given to a young woman on her 18th or 21st birthday – if a car might be involved.

The RAINBOW GLIMMER PAPER is perfect for this card. I used my GARAGE GEARS DIES to die cut the largest gears die, three times.

These were then adhered to the Whisper White card front mat. A length of POOL PARTY 3/8″ SHEER RIBBON was tied into a bow and wrapped around the mat front.

A banner piece was cut from the Glimmer Paper and a birthday greeting, from the HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS STAMP SET, was stamped using STAZON onto more glimmer paper. After the birthday greeting was trimmed, it was popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and attached to the banner piece.

The card insert and envelope had die cut glimmer paper cogs attached.

I do like this card – what do you think? Who would you give it to?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

A RAINBOW KIND OF BIRTHDAY

Over the last week or so, I have been using some stamp sets and other products that I haven’t used before.

Today I used the BUFFALO CHECK BACKGROUND STAMP.

After tossing around a few ideas, I decided to use my STAMPIN’ WRITE MARKERS ™ to create a coloured rainbow.

I used markers, primarily, from the BRIGHTS family – POPPY PARADE, MANGO MELODY, DAFFODIL DELIGHT, GRANNY APPLE GREEN, PACIFIC POINT, GORGEOUS GRAPE and HIGHLAND HEATHER.

The hand colouring looks a little patchy but I’m really pleased with the effect.

Then I used the CELEBRATION LABELS DIES to cut the stamped rainbow buffalo check.

I used two die cut pieces of Gorgeous Grape to create a mat to adhere the rainbow to – then I popped it up with dimensionals.

The white faux linen ribbon from the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON RIBBON COMBO teams nicely with the LINEN THREADS.

I chose some Mango Melody ARTISTRY BLOOMS SEQUINS to finish the card with a little bling.

For the envelope, I coloured the stamp again as you can see.

This will be the card I send to my sister for her birthday this Thursday. So when I post it, with her gift, on Monday – it will be a “little-bit-late”. This is the perfect sentiment for the birthday cards I send.

I hope that Karen likes her birthday goodies.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

PLAYING WITH PATTERNS

I was unpacking one last box of crafting bits and bobs and found a card that I made years ago … and, I don’t think that I have made one since … until now!

For this ‘remake’, I used the PLAYING WITH PATTERNS DSP and RESIN DOTS.

The HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS STAMP SET is amazing! There are four birthday greetings to choose from.

I also used my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend to colour the Braided Linen Trim.

Lots of colour … lots of dots … happy birthday!

On the reverse side of the card upright there is a place for a personalised message to be written.

The card looks like this well folded down, ready to pop into an envelope.

I hope that you like this card.
