BACK AGAIN

Hello and thanks for popping by. I hope that you’ve had a more creative week than me – the last few days have been focused on my knee exercises and rehab.

Thank goodness for the new Global Design Project #293 challenge for getting me back in my craft space. This week is another Color Challenge!

The GDP#292 color combination is Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. How fun is this color combination?

These are three of the new 2021-2023 In Colour Colours. I decided to team them with the Perfect Plants Bundle.

PLENTIFUL PLANTS BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

My idea was to hang three pots from a brick wall. What do you think?

I cut a 5-5/8″x 4″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock to emboss it with the Bricks & Mortar 3D folder. Before I ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, I used the Pale Papaya Classic Stampin’ Pad to transfer ink inside the folder. After the card was embossed it was cut down to a 5-5/8″x 1″ strip for the card insert and a 4-3/4″x 3″ panel for the split front card. This panel was used to hold the two 2″ card front pieces together and 1-3/4″ apart.

The hanging pot plants were stamped and die cut before being layered up, using Stampin’ Dimensionals, on the brick wall. The Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Basic Black work well together. The images and sentiments in the Plentiful Plants Stamp Set are going to be fun to create with. When the card stands opened, it is easy to see thecolumn of bricks inside.

These are some of the new products used to make this card. I used one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the Thank You for this card. To finish the project, I stamped one of the pots onto the front of the envelope.

While I am so happy with the hanging pot plants, I think I am most pleased with the way the inked and embossed bricks cardstock turned out. What do you think?

Happy stamping.

I’M BACK IN MY CRAFTING ROOM!

Hello and thank you, so much, for popping by. It has been almost two weeks since my knee replacement surgery and I am so happy with my progress – and, that I have started crafting again.

It is Sunday and it is time for a Global Desgin Project challenge. This week is a CASE challenge – the card, below, was designed by Artisan and New Zealander, Susan Wong.

Our brief for a CASE challenge that we can take what we like from the design and make it our own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever we like that has inspired us to make a card of our own. For me, I decided to CASE the general layout.

For this project, I decided that the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle would be perfect.

I have also been working on a card for a colour challenge. I decided to use the same colour pallette for this project.

May be an image of 1 person and text that says '#99 COLOUR NSPIRATION CHALLENGES Mint Macaron Just JusJade Jade Smoky Slate Soft Suede'

I used Shimmery White cardstock so that I could do some messy water colouring. I used the same cardstock and one of my Blending Brushes to colour the 4-5/8″x 3″ panel with Soft Suede to achieve this mottled effect. I spent some time running my fingernails along the edges of the cardstock to give it a frayed and vintage look. The edges were then coloured using the Blending Brush. The sand particles were then stamped using first and second generation stamping. Finally, I wrapped some Very Vanilla twine, from the new Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack, and tied a bow.

The shell, starfish and seaweed images were stamped using StazOn Jet Black ink for the water colouring. When dry, each image was die cut or fussy cut and thenpopped up onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like the smaller sentiment I chose for this card because the stamped and coloured images are definitely the focal points.

These are many products used to create this project – and, I am so pleased how well they work together.

What do you think? What was the last project you CASEd?

COLOURFUL PUFFINS

Hello and welcome. Thank you for popping by. I’m sure that you will find today’s project lots of fun.

It is Sunday and therefore a Global Design Project challenge. The first Sunday of the month is a Colour Challenge!

I decided to team the Party Puffins Stamp Set with these colours to create a colourful birthday party scene.

I started by stamping the puffins onto pieces of Coastal Cabana, Magenta Madness and Bumblebee cardstock. Then they were fussy cut and painted with CLear Wink of Stella.

The birthday cakes were stamped directly onto the Basic White layer and coloured in using Stampin’ Blends and stampin’ Write Markers™. Lots of Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to pop the puffins beside their colourful cakes.

The cake was also stamped on the envelope and card insert, then coloured. The finishing touch was to add some of the 2020 – 2022 In Colour Enamel Dots to the front of the card. The puffins are so bright and sparkly.

This is such a fun card. I’m going to have lots of fun making more cards with these Party Puffins.

Happy stamping.
