WEDNESDAY IS A WONDERFUL DAY TO SHARE CHALLENGE PROJECTS

The #GDP337 Global Design Project theme this week is a colour challenge.

This week’s colour combination is Soft Sea Foam, Blushing Bride and So Saffron. This is such a sweet and soft colour combimation!

Make sure you head over to the the GDP website to see the gorgeous projects the design team created – just click on the image below.

It was an interesting colour combination to use with my featured bundle this week – Cactus Cuties Bundle.

I decided to use a lot of white space for this card. After preparing the card base, I scored three horizontal lines 3/4″, 7/8″ and 1″ from the bottom of the card. I think that you can just see them above the sentiment.

The sentiment was partially stamped so that only ‘a note’ was on the front. The little cactus flower was stamped inside the card and on the envelope.

I stamped the three pots on Blushing Bride and So Saffron cardstock using the same ink colours. When they were dry, I stamped them again using some Whisper White Craft ink.

The cactus shapes were stamped in Soft Sea foam ink onto the same coloured cardstock.

The pots and cactii were then fussy cut before being positioned above the top score line. Each piece had Stampin’ Dimensionals popped behind them.

I coloured a length of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon with the Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend. Then the ribbon was cut in half and I created a #tammybow. A Mini Glue Dot secured the ribbon in place.

To finish the card, I coloured some silver shapes, from the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials, using Stampin’ Blends.

So far, so good! I have been able to create a project for each GDP challenge using my featured weekly products. Here’s to next week’s challenge.

Tomorrow is 3D Thursday. I am tossing around ideas for a gift carrier for a potted succulent. Join me tomorrow to see what I have made.

Until then, happy stamping.

WELCOME TO ANOTHER WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

Wow, today’s post is so late. I have two projects to share that I made in response to this week’s Global Design Project design sketch challenge.

For both cards I used the Waves of the Ocean 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper, Lucky You Stamp Set and Sport Event Dies.

This is the first card – the one that I shared for the challenge.

I started with a Basic White card base and overlay. The overlay panel was attached to the base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Calypso Coral panel was then stamped images from the Lucky You Stamp Set using Calypso Coral and Pacific Point inks. Then I stamped the sentiments on to a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it using one of the Sport Events Dies.

I split the ticket apart and attached the two pieces over the stamped panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up. Then I tied some white twine, from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Dies, around the panel and tied a knot.

The Calypso Coral panel was attached to the card using dimensionals.

I used the long ticket die, from the Sport Event Dies, to cut some of the Waves of the Ocean DSP, to place above and below the stamped panel. Dimensionals were used to lift them up.

The final step was to add some Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels to the front of the card.

The second card is a stepped up version.

For this card, I added stamped images to the white panel layer. I also embossed the Calypso Coral layer before adding it to the card front at an angle.

Then I took a length of white baker’s twine and separated all 5 strands before tying a bow. I attached the bow using a Mini Glue Dot.

I love the sentiments in the Lucky You Stamp Set.

Tomorrow is 3D Thursday and I have a super simple gusseted gift bag to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.

IT IS STILL WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY & TIME TO SHARE MY Colour INKspiration PROJECT

I love the way that each Colour INKspiration challenge gives us something new to create with. The colours of these birds are rich and vibrant.

This week I am featuring the Waves of the Ocean Collection, so my added challenge is how I can use these colours with the products of the week.

May be an image of bird and text that says '#117 Crushed Curry Real Red Bermuda Bay Basic Black COLOUR nRI NSPIRATION CHALLENGES'

So, here is what I created.

I started by stamping the large wave image, from the Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set, on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Bermuda Bay ink. Then I embossed this piece using the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder.

To add definition to the card front, I cut 1/4″ strips of Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Real Red and Bermuda Bay cardstock. These four strips were adhered to the front panel.

I used the Waves Dies to cut three pelicans in the three key colours. After adding Stampin’ Dimensionals behind each pelican, I positioned them in alignment with the cardstock strips.

The sentiment was stamped and the tag die cut. Two lengths of Black and White Gingham Ribbon were passed through the tag and around the Basic White panel. Then I tied each pair of ribbon ends into tight little bows.

This Basic White panel was then adhered to the Basic Black cardbase.

I stamped the pelican image on the card insert and envelope front.

When you have a new collection of products to use it is great to know that you can use them with other products from your crafting supplies.

Tomorrow is 3D Thursday and I have a great waves insoired gift box to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.
