3D THURSDAY & IT’S TIME FOR A GIFTBOX

You have probably figured out that I am featuring one product suite or bundle each week, beginning on Saturday.

This week is all about the FREE Sale-a-bration Friendly Hello Bundle. This a product bundle you can choose with a minimum $180 AUD order.

FRIENDLY HELLO BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

I had a Basil, Lime and Mandarin scented cake of soap that needed a much nicer giftbox than the packaging it came in.

I cut piece of Pool Party cardstock to 7″x 5-1/2″ for the base and scored it at 1-1/2″ on all four sides.

The lid was cut to 6″x 4-1/2″ and scored at slightly less than 1″ on all sides. This ensured the lid was a touch larger than the base and would fit easily over the base. It also meant that part of the blue base would be seen and it would easier to lift the lid away.

The Designer Series Paper was cut from a piece measuring 5-5/8″x 4-1/8″. When I cut the DSP, as shown below, I was able to ensure the continuity of the paper’s design on the top and the four sides.

I adhered the DSP panels to the lid before assembling it.

To coordinate with the giftbox, I wrapped and secured a strip of the same DSP around the soap.

Then I took a length of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and attached it to the bottom of the card base.

I stamped the birthday greeting onto a piece of cardstock and used the Lovely Labels Punch to decorate the end of the greeting tag. The Label Me Fancy Punch gave me the punched hole I needed to thread the ribbon ends through. The next step was to tie a bow.

The Garden Gems are a gorgeous way to finish the giftbox.

I really have fun when I make giftboxes and packaging. It’s the challenge of creating a 3D item from 2D paper – measuring, cutting and assembling.

Tomorrow is Fun Fold Friday. Until then, happy stamping.

A GOLDEN GIFT BOX

I decided that it was time to make a 3D project so today I have a gift box to share with you.

The Gold and Rose Gold Metallic 6″x 6″ Specialty Paper, in the Annual Catalogue, is stunning. I have teamed it with some of the Eden’s Garden Collection products.

The gift box measures 4″x 4″ and is 1″ deep.

I made the box first and then created the belly band by cutting a 2″ wide strip of Evening Evergreen card. Then I adhered a 1-1/2″ strip of paper from the Ever Eden Specialty Designer Series Paper. The band was wrapped around the box and I gently pinched it along each edge. I was then able to burnish that pinched crease to create four sharp corners for the belly band.

I created the bow by looping each of the four lengths of Open Weave Ribbon and held each loop in plce with a Mini Glue Dot (there are two Soft Succulent and two Evening Evergreen ribbons). The loops were then overlapped and tied tightly in the centre with a length of gold Simply Elegant Trim. Then I cut some lengths of the same ribbons in half lengthwise and tied them around the bow. Finally I unravelled the gold trim to create the individual filaments.

The sentiment, from the Eden’s Garden Stamp Set, was stamped onto a small piece of Basic White card stock using the Evening Evergreen ink. The leaves were stamped in Soft Succulent. Then I used one of the Tailor Made Tags Dies to cut the three tags that are attached to the top of the box. To keep the tags displayed this way I used Mini Glue Dots.

The last step was to add some Garden Gems to the tags. I love the marquise shaped gems!

Now I just need to find something gorgeous to pop inside the gift box. What would you put in the gift box?

Until next time, happy stamping and gift box making.

HAPPY HIPPOS

Hello! I am so pleased that you have popped by to see what I have to share with you today.

If you have been visiting fairly regualrly, you will know that I have been featuring new products from current catalogue. Today’s project uses a product that has carried over into the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.

Let me share the background story first.

While my daughters encourage my paper crafting and lovingly ‘tolerate’ my endlessly showing them the projects I have made, they surprise me from time to time. They do actually understand what I do and often keep an eye open for something that I could use for a project.

Recently, my eldest daughter visited and gave me a chocolate she had found that she thought I would like to make a gift box for – she was spot on! She found a Kinder Happy Hippo.

I immediately thought of Robyn Cardon’s Hippo Happiness Stamp Set, created for her Million Achievement Milestone.

There definitely needs to be more than just one chocolate in a gift box, so I went in search of them. I found a five pack in my local supermarket – now we’re talkiing.

So it was time to design a box to pop three of them into.

I took three of the chocolates and did some measuring and sketching on my Gridpaper to create the layout for this flip top box. The box was made using a 12″x 8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Before I assembled the box, I cut Balmy Blue cardstock and DSP from the Subtles 6″x 6″ DSP to adhere to each of the box panels.

The front panels were shaped using one of the Basic Borders Dies. Once attached, I assembled the gift box and the Happy Hippos were a perfect fit.

Then I cut the label for the front of the box using one of the Hippo & Friends Dies. The greeting was stamped in Balmy Blue ink onto this panel. Three balloons were also stamped, using Balmy Blue, Blushing Bride and So Saffron. The balloon ribbons were stamped using Smoky Slate. The birthday greeting was stamped, and cut using the long banner from the Bloom Dies (Bloom Hybrid). I repositioned the die to shorten the length of the banner.

With the lid closed, I postioned the large Basic White panel to secure the lid in place. The bottom half of the panel had Stampin’ Dimensionals to ensure it had enough height to allow the lid to tuck under the it. The birthday banner was popped up, using Stampin’ Dimensionals also, in the top right-hand corner of the lid.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the three Hippos for the front of the gift box. They were then die cut and positioned on the front greeting panel. Clear Wink of Stella was used to add some glimmer to the balloons and hippos. Finally, I added some Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems for some extra bling.

This is such a cute little gift box to give to someone who loves hippopotami (hippopotauses). Who would you give this to?

Happy stamping.
