TRANQUIL THOUGHTS

Hello and welcome. Thanks for popping by to see my latest project. I would love to know what you think – I hope you leave a comment.

Today’s project is a 3D one – a fold flat gift box.

I used the TRANQUIL THOUGHTS BUNDLE and focussed on the dies.

TRANQUIL THOUGHTS BUNDLE
The two dies, in the bottom right hand corner, were used to cut Basic White panels for each side of teh box.

Once the panels were cut, I used a BLENDING BRUSH to add some Granny Apple Green ink. Then I used a BLENDER PEN and some Versamark refill to draw the Versamark onto selected areas of the leaves. I sprinkled some HEAT & STICK POWDER and heated it so that I could add some GILDED LEAFING.

A shet of 12″x 12″ Granny Apple Green was used to cut and score the box. There are instructions below.

The sentiment and leaf are in the TRANQUIL THOUGHTS STAMP SET. I think the Granny Apple Green stamped onto Basic White is really crisp and refreshing.

I kept the top of the box relatively simple – a square cut sentimet panel, a single die cut leaf and a white twine bow.

This style of box is a great one to make becasue once it’s made you can fold it flat to minimise the amount of space needed to store it. And, it doesn’t need very much adhesive – just some Stampin’ Seal + along the tab on the far right.

I hope that you have a chance to try this project. Let me know what you think.

Happy stamping.

DESERT LIME

Hello and thank you for popping by.

When you start creating with new products do you just keep making different projects?

That’s what I found I was doing with the SIMPLY SUCCULENTS BUNDLE and the FLOWERING CACTUS PRODUCT MEDLEY. In a day, I made seven cards and a gift box. I’ll post them on alternate days to make sure that I don’t bore you.

I found a bar of coconut and desert lime soap when I was shopping the other day. The desert lime was close enough for me to make a cactus/desert inspired gift box.

The design of this gift box is very similar to the card I shared on the 24th.

I used the same DSP and colours and colouring techniques.

I used a small LAYERING CIRCLES DIE to cut a semicircle to make it easier to lift the lid.

I added five of the Cinnamon Cider 2020-2022 IN COLOUR ENAMEL DOTS to the front of the box.

The natural twine in the product medley was used to tie this triple bow.

This will make a lovely little gift to have on hand for that moment when I want to thank someone for an act of kindness.

Happy stamping.

LIP SERVICE

Hello to all of my creative friends who pop in from time to time – thank you for visiting me again.

There is nothing insincere about my love of Stampin’ Up!® and its amazing, high quality products – my use of the expression ‘lip service’ relates to today’s project.

When I was at the supermarket recently I found a tube of lip balm and I knew that I should buy it and package it more attractively. A good lip balm gives your lips good care – ‘service’.

I decided to use a sheet of paper from the FINE ART FLORAL DESIGNER SERIES PAPER that could be described as a bit like a beehive design. The Burt’s Bees container is more of a Bumblebee colour but I wanted to match the DSP and went for So Saffron.

The ITTY BITTY GREETING STAMP SET provided the sentiment I wanted and was a perfect size for the CLASSIC LABEL PUNCH.

The BASIC GRAY TWINE from the WELL SUITED TWINE COMBO PACK was a good match to secure the greeting banners in place.

I enjoy the challenge of making gift boxes and packaging. It requires me to visualise a package, take measurements and plan a two dimensional plan for a three dimensional final product.

This is why I really love pattern making and sewing. The idea that you could design a garment or see a garment in a magazine and break it down to translate it to a flat pattern that, when sewn, results in a wearable and hopefully, fashionable piece of clothing. And, as I approach a 6 figure age at the end of this year, I am drawn to all those thinking skills that will keep my brain age younger.

This style of box can easily be upsized to hold a new lipstick. What would you use this style of box for?

Happy stamping.
