MAKING FUN FOLD CARDS IS ALWAYS FUN ON A FRIDAY

For today’s Friday Fun Fold card I decided to use the same colours that were from the #GDP337 Challenge this week.

The fun fold today is a waterfall card. I thought it would be perfect for the pot and cactus image sizes.

For the background I used the Stacked Stone Stamp and my Stamparatus. I used all three colours to stamp this image. After I stamped each colour, the stamp was cleaned and the Basic White panel moved slightly to fill the white spaces.

The next step was to create the waterfall mechanism. I cut a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock 8-3/4″x 2-1/2″ and scored it at 2-1/2″, 3″, 3-1/2″ and 4″

I cut four Blushing Bride 2-1/2″ squares and one rectangle measuring 4-1/2″x 2-1/2″. Then I cut four Basic White 2-3/8″ squares and one rectangle 4-3/8″x 3-7/8″.

I stamped a variety of pot and cactus images to adhere to the Blushing Bride squares.

To add these squares to the waterfall mechanism, I added strips of Tear & Tape to each of the 1/2″ scored spaces.

The rectangular stamped piece was added last.

The bottom section of the ‘just a note’ square was glued to a 1″ strip of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. To fix the mechanism in place, I added Stampin’ Seal+ to the Soft Sea Foam strip either side of the Blushing Bride squares.

During my Facebook Live today (07/04/22), I made another waterfall card.

Tomorrow is #simplestamping – I hope that you can join me.

Until then, happy stamping.

FUN FOLD FRIDAY IS BACK AGAIN

Today I have a Peekaboo Slider Card to share with you.

This is the first time I have made this fun fold card. I did some online research looking at Pinterest, Google images and YouTube. After seeing a couple of different styles, I opted for one that Lisa Curcio demonstrated in 2020. I adjusted her measurements to suit A4 cardstock.

Friday also means that this is the last project using the All Together Collections.

Lisa used a 2″ circle punch that is now retired so I swapped it for the Label Me Lovely Punch.

This card is made up of three separate pieces.

The first Real Red piece measures 8-1/8″x 4-1/8″ and is scored at 2-3/4″. It forms the front of the card and the slider piece that the sentiment is stamped on. A piece of All Together Designer Series Paper was adhered to the front before the top right hand corner was punched out.

The inside Real Red piece measures 8-1/4″x 4-1/8″ and is scored at 4-1/8″.

The back Basic White panel meaures 6″x 4-1/8″ and is scored at 5-3/4″.

The front and both sides of the inside panel are punched in the same place – so that you can see straight through them.

When you open the card, the 2-3/4″ Real Red section from the front panel slides across revealing a stamped sentiment. It was stamped on Basic White cardstock and punched out before being adhered directly in the space from the inside piece.

The inside Real Red piece had a piece of DSP adhered to the left hand half. I also attached a small panel of Basic White cardstock for a personal message to be written.

The leaf design on this DSP is my favourites from this collection. Lots of white space, beautifully shaped leaves, simple line drawing style and lots of black dots.

This view gives you an idea of how the three pieces of cardstock are connected. After all the DSP is adhered and the three identical spaces are punched out, this is how they are joined: the left hand side of the Real Red inside panel is glued along the right hand side front card panel, and then the 1/4″ scored area of the Basic White card back is adhered to the back of the right hand half of the Real Red card insert.

I have project on my list of new video tutorials to make. It should be easier to follow how to assemble the card by watching rather than the scant information above.

I used the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon to create a #tammybow. A length of the same ribbon was wrapped around the card front and secured inside. The #tammybow was then attached using a Mini Glue Dot.

From tomorrow, I am going to vary my usual routine. I will still keep the daily project themes but will feature a stand alone stamp set from the 2022 January – June Mini Catalogue.

For #simplestamping Saturday and Step It Up Sunday, I will be featuring the Host Stamp Set Mischievous Mice.

Until then, happy stamping.

FRIDAY IS THE DAY FOR FUN FOLD CARDS & HOW TO MAKE THEM

For today’s Fun Fold card I have been playing around with closures and magnets. I’m going to call this one a Top Fold Flap Card. If there is a more commonly known name, I hope that you will reach out and let me know.

I started with a partial Bermuda Bay card base measuring 6-1/4″x 5-3/4″. The bottom section was scored at 2-1/8″ and was folded up.

The Basic White panel for this horizontal flap was cut to 5-5/8″x 2″ and was stamped using the Sentimental Swirls Stamp Set.

For the top, vertical flap I used two of the Hippo & Friends Dies. I lengthened these pieces so that the flap would have enough to tuck some in behind the Basic White insert. This resulted in a hinge.

The white die cut panel was stamped also before the two die cut pieces were glued together.

After I stamped the Basic White card insert, I attached the hinge between the back of the card and the insert.

With the top flap in place, I secured the first magnet on the bottom flap and then adhered the stamped Basic White panel over it.

The next step was to position the second magnet over the first and added a Mini Glue Dot on it. I pressed thetop flap firmly onto the second magnet and lifted it up. To hold the magnet in place I adhered a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock over it.

The flap snaps closed and keeps the card shut.

I cut another piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, using the Hippo & Friends Dies, to place on the card insert. The birthday greeting was then stamped on the insert.

I also stamped the bird on the front of the envelope.

This was a fun card to create. I think I will make some adjustments so that it can also hold a gift card.

Tomorrow sees some #simplestamping and a new product bundle to showcase.

Until then, happy stamping.
