PHOTO SHOOT AT LAST

Phew … I have finally caught up on photographing my recent projects, six in total. That’s the next few posts sorted.

I thought that I would firstly share some photos of my newly set up crafting space and how I set up for taking photos.

This is my new desk and storage shelves. The table can be folded down and the bookcase turned around to reveal a queen bed – the best Murphy bed.

And, like so many of you, I have just put together my new storage unit. I have ordered some custom built inserts for card stock and DSP.

My ‘studio’ is very simple. I use two restaurant table numbers to hold up a length of wallpaper. The curved edge creates an endless background – a trick I learnt from my father, who was a professional photographer.

So, let me show you the fragrant soap gift box I made.

Yesterday, I started working on my first video tutorial for a soon to be shared Youtube channel. This was the project I made. Once I have done some editing (as soon as I learn to do so) it will be uploaded and I’ll let you know when.

I am totally loving the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON 6″x 6″ DSP and it’s variety. For this project I chose the Christmas seasonal paper. I guess that I will have to tuck this away until Christmas.

I like to pop a gift box with a lovely soap onto the bed when we have guests.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping (and gift box making).

These are the products I used to make this project. If you live in Australia, you can order any of them through me.

NO STAMPING

It is very rare for me to make a project without using a stamp set, but that is what happened as this card evolved.

I started with a piece of DSP from the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON 6″x 6″ pack. A gorgeous piece filled with roses in shades of BUMBLEBEE.

I looked through my stamp sets and had a few ideas but nothing was jumping out at me to use with this paper.

That’s when I remembered that I had the coordinating FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON MEMORIES & MORE CARD PACK.

As I flipped through the pack I found a small card with the same roses, although slightly lighter in colour, with a sentiment in CINNAMON CIDER. Done!

From there it was full steam ahead – emboss some Cinnamon Cider card stock, cut a piece of the rose DSP, trim down the Memories & More card, mount it onto a mat background, add some ribbon and linen thread, use lots of dimensionals and I was done.

I also added a half inch strip of the DSP to the envelope and inside the card.

And just like my card posted yesterday, this card didn’t need any other embellishments.

Thanks for popping by …happy stamping.

#SHARESUNSHINE

So – I’ve been missing for a few days but for a very, very good reason.

We have just had an amazing swivel wall bed with shelves and a desk installed, in our second bedroom!

When Rob and I moved from Bundaberg to Kangaroo Point, we downsized from a large house to a two bedroom apartment. And, I lost my craft room.

So for the last year, I have been crafting on the dining table and have had all my supplies filling cupboards.

Now, I have a permanent place to create and store my Stampin’ Up!® supplies … and have freed up some cupboard space.

It is CLEI queen bed LGM01 and it is brilliant!

This isn’t our apartment but it’s a great photo showing you how the unit swivels around – desk by day and bed, for guests, by night. Everything stays on the shelves! And, there is so much space on the shelves.

That large piece of white, in the front, is the desk when it is collapsed.

We chose all white, just like this one.

So, I have been setting up my new crafting space.

I also bought myself a new IKEA Kallax 12 cube book case. Armed with my trusty screwdrivers, I managed to assemble it, and some sets of drawers and cupboard inserts, all by myself!

WOOHOO, feeling clever.

I’ll post a ‘finished’ photo once I’ve put everything where I want it to go.

I did manage to squeeze in one project since my last post – a gift box, using some of the soon to be released 2020-2021 ANNUAL CATALOGUE new products.

The sunflowers in the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON 6″X 6″ DSP are very cheerful; as is the BUMBLEBEE card stock – one of the five new 2020-2022 IN COLOURS.

I love the new JUST JADE GINGHAM RIBBON!

The sentiment is from the LOVELY YOU CLING STAMP SET and it was perfect for the goodies inside the gift box.

I like the way the JAR PUNCH can be used to make a gift tag.

At the moment, I don’t have anyone who needs cheering up.

If you live in Australia, and you know someone who could use a little cheering up, contact me and I will send it to you to give to them, as an almost RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS!

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping!
