CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Hello and welcome to my Wednesday blog hop post. I am so pleased that you have taken the time to pop by.

So, it is Wednesday and it is time for my Freshly Brewed Projects blog hop post. Make sure you scroll all the way to the end of this post to check out what the other Freshly Brewed participants have created for you.

At the moment I have a few current Christmas related products, as I await my preorder from the soon to be released Mini Catalogue. And, there is a whole lot of holiday happiness to be found in there.

July–December 2021 Mini Catalogue

So here is the card I created for this this blog hop – I hope you like it.

I knew that I wanted to use the Evergreen Elegance Bundle and I found a design from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper pack that would coordinate successfully. Then I decided to create a simple side step card, using Misty Moonlight as the card base. I carefully measured and positioned the pieces of DSP so that the split images aligned (the side pieces are both 1″ shorter from the top and longer at the bottom).

Then I wrapped and ties a length of the Misty Moonlight/silver Baker’s Twine from the Flower for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. I used a Mini Glue Dot to secure the bow in place. Then I punched three lengths of trees using the Evergreen Border Punch. One of these had some Misty Moonlight ink daubed onto the tree tops. You can see where I attached the trees. The tops of the trees were given a little Clear Wink of Stella to help them shine. I also added some 2020-2022 In Colour Square Gems (Misty Moonlight) to the card front.

And, I am sure that you know me well enough by now, I never leave a card insert or envelope ‘naked’. I used one of the tree images from the Evergreen Elegance Stamp Set to ‘dress’ these.

The Christmas greeting was stamped and fussy cut before being added to the front of the card. As you can see, my fussy cutting is still a work in prgress but I am getting better.

I am looking forward to using the new Evergreen Border Punch again – there are a few ideas swirly around in my brain at the moment. Let’s see if I have something else to share with you soon. It has been a while since I have used my Sponge Daubers – it is quite easy to forget how helpful our tools can be.

Although Christmas in Australia is typically hot and may be humid, it is a wish for many people to enjoy a white Christmas all rugged up in front of a fire watching snow fall outside.

Happy Christmas in July. Now, pop on over and see what the other Freshly Brewed crew have made to share with you.

Happy stamping.

MINI ALBUM

I have had a pack or two of the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON MEMORIES & MORE CARD PACK and the coordinating CARDS & ENVELOPES sitting in my cupboard unused until now.

For this project I used half of the envelopes and Memories and More pack to make a mini album.

I trimmed the envelopes down to 6.25″ x 4″ and kept the flap in tact. On my Facebook Live, yesterday, I shared how I made this album.

If you click on the image below, you can watch the Facebook Live I did on Wednesday showing you how to make it.

The album cover was created using two 6.25″ x 4.25″ pieces of Magenta Madness card stock. These were then covered with some of the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON 6″x 6″ DSP cut to 6″x 4″. A strip of the DSP was also used to create a spine covering, although it was cut in half to allow it ‘stretch’ to the top and bottom of the album. The gap was easily filled with a length of IN COLOUR RIBBON.

When opened, the album reveals the five In Colours.

Each section opens out allowing space for photos to be added and journaling completed.

Each section has a pocket with a piece of Whisper White card stock slipped inside.

I am very pleased with the end result.

Check out my video to see how to make your own.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

These are the products I used to make this project. If you live in Australia, you can order any of them through me.
