SHOWCASING THE COUNTRY WOODS SUITE COLLECTION FROM THE STAMPIN’ UP! 2024-2025 ANNUAL CATALOGUE

This is the first card I made, for the Paper Angels Team Day, using a standard cardbase.

I liked this card because it can take newer paper crafters from step-by-step, simpler cards to quick and easy ones that use more tools and techniques.

For this card I introduce more colours, dies and a wider range of products.

The Pool Party cardbase is cut from a piece of A4 cardstock. Some newer crafters may never have used a Paper Trimmer and Bone Folder. This is a great time to share some paper cutting tips and techniques.

TIP: Try to remember that the blades on a paper trimmer are consumables – they do get blunt over time and can leave a cut edge leaving a rough, untidy edge rather than a clean, sharp finish.

I used a smaller Basic White layer because I was going to use so many individual coloured teapots. Each teapot was die cut before stamping the floral image, from the Country Flower Stamp Set, in the same colour. The colours used were Basic Beige, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Misty Moonlight, Pecan Pie, Petal Pink, Pool Party, and Wild Wheat.

The flowers were stamped on the main body of the teapot and then a second time on the spout. I adhered all nine teapots across the smaller white layer, using a sheet of grid paper to help me align them evenly.

I die cut and stamped four extra teapots in Basic Gray, Misty Moonlight, Pool Party and Wild Wheat. These were popped up over their matching teapots using Stampin’ Dimensionals. This technique adds an interesting height difference across the cardfront.

The sentiment was stamped, using Misty Moonlight, on a scrap of Thick Basic White card and cut with the new Labeled with Love punch/die. I decided to order both the punch and the set of three dies so that my customers can choose which they prefer. For newer paper crafter, who may not have a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine of either size, a punch is a more convenient option.

The sentiment panel was then placed on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals to lift it up over the teapots.

Finally, I took some of the clear Transparent Adhesive-backed Dots and coloured using the dark Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend Pen.

I cut and stamped two more Pool Party teapots and added them to the card insert and back of the envelope. By finishing the inside of the card and the envelope, a new project is complete.

This is such a great sentiment that suits a wide range of occasions.

Tomorrow I have another project, from this collection, to share with you tomorrow.

Until then, happy stamping.

WELL, IT’S BEEN A WHILE!

My last post was well over a month ago, while we were still traveling overseas. When we arrived home, I spent the first few weeks working on projects that I shared at a Paper Angels team day.

After 10 weeks of traveling, and a long way from my craft room, I was very keen to spend my time creating. It was great to be back in my happy place.

… set up and ready to share.

The next few days of posts will be the projects I created using the Country Woods Suite Collection.

This is such an extensive collection of stamps, dies, Designer Series Paper, embellishments and an embossing folder.

My first few projects were designed to introduce newer crafters to stamping, colouring and some techniques. They were designed to be made using only minimal supplies.

These projects were made using both the Country Birdhouse and Country Flowers Stamp Sets. Because they are both photopolymer stamp sets, stamping the images is a little easier to place images where they are wanted.

Along with the stamp sets, I used the Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad and Basic White Notecards and Envelopes. I added a pack of Watercolour Pencils, a Blending Pen, Paper Snips, Multipurpose Glue and Masking Paper to the table.

The first card used direct to card stamping. The birdhouse and sentiment were stamped before using some of the Watercolour Pencils to add colour. The Blender Pen smooths out the pencil colouring.

I stamped the bird on a scrap of Basic White cardstock and then coloured it. The bird was then fussy cut – using a ‘new’, sharp pair of snips is easy enough and does not require a Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Seven birds were stamped, coloured and fussy cut. I used Grid Paper to help me align the three rows of birds evenly across the front of the card.

The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card front.

Extra birds were prepared for the inside of the card and the back of the envelope.

For this card, I stamped the teapot image on the card front. The same image was stamped onto a piece of masking paper. After peeling away the backing, the image was covered with the masking paper. Then I was able to stamp both the stool and flowers images.

After removing the masking paper, the images were coloured.

Again, the sentiment was stamped directly on the front of the card.

The back of the envelope was also stamped and coloured.

Tomorrow I will start to share the projects made using cardstock and more products from the suite collection.

Until then, happy stamping.

THIS WEEK’S GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT CHALLENGE #GDP438

I am a few days earlier than usual sharing my project for the latest challenge.

This week’s challenge is a SKETCH CHALLENGE.

Make sure that click on the image below to be directed to the GDP page to check out all the amazing projects the DEsign Team have created; as well as the ‘entries’ from card makers around the world.

i decided to use the soon to be released Country Birdhouse Bundle from the Country Woods Suite Collection.

The Country Woods Designer Series Paper is amazing – this is where I started. The Misty Moonlight weathered wood design and the multicoloured timber design were my choices.

I made a Misty Moonlight card base and added a panel of the weathered timber DSP.

Following the Sketch Challenge layout, I cut a piece of Basic Beige and embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered it directly onto the card front.

Then I set about creating my birdhouse.

I stamped the birdhouse image onto the multicoloured timber paper and die cut it. At the same time I added the two small round dies to cut out the circles in the birdhouse.

Then I cut the roof and bottom piece in Pool Party and the barge board in Petal Pink.

I stamped the birthday greeting on the Pool Party lower panel.

After adhering these three die cut pieces to the front of the birdhouse I attached pieces of Foam Adhesive Sheets to the back.

I cut a panel of Petal Pink timber from the DSP and added it to the bottom of the card front.

A scrap of the Misty Moonlight DSP was adhered to a scrap of matching cardstock and then cut using the bow die. I trimmed the long strip from above the bow and then secured it to the card front.

Finally, I stamped the bird three times – once on a scrap of Basic Beige card and on the card insert and envelope. The first bird was die cut and then coloured using Pecan Pie and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and was painted with Clear Wink of Stella.

Tomorrow I have a Magnolia Mood 3D Project for you.

Until then, happy stamping.
