COLOUR INKSPIRATION #99

Hello and thank you so much for popping by. I added a new post yesterday after a two week absence – but, I have a new knee and have been doing all my physiotherapy exercises.

Yesterday’s post was for the Global Design Project #GDP292. I made the card for the GDP challenge after I made my project for #CI99 – I thought it would be easier to use the same colours for both challenges.

May be an image of 1 person and text that says '#99 COLOUR NSPIRATION CHALLENGES Mint Macaron Just JusJade Jade Smoky Slate Soft Suede'

For this card i chose the Colour & Contour Stamp Set and Scalloped Contours Dies.

It was loads of fun using these, very unfloral, colours for the penned flower images. I stamped the images, using Jet Black StazOn, and then used the challenge colours to watercolour the flowers. The images were then die cut.

The coordinating dies have two dies for the floral images, a scalloped edge die and five scalloped rectangles. I used the second largest of these to cut out a ‘window’, in Soft Suede, for the sentiment and gems. The sentiment was stamped, using Just Jade, onto a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and positioned on the Soft Suede card front. The window layer was lifted up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I positioned the flowers and floral stem onto the card front. They were adhered using both Mulitpurpose Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final touch was to add some of the Genial Gems.

SCALLOPED CONTOURS DIES

These are some of the new products I used for this project.

The fonts used in the sentiments of this stamp set are really lovely.

It has been very nice to make two projects, two weeks after my surgery. Getting back to ‘normal’ is a treat.

Happy stamping.

SOURCES OF INSPIRATION

Hello – thank you for popping by. I really appreciate the time you take to see what I have been creating.

Today is the end of the creativity period for the #CI96 Colour Inkspiration Challenge.

No photo description available.

The colours in this challenge are so, so pretty.

May be an image of flower and text

For this challenge I decided to use Dena Rekow’s 1000000 Pretty Perennials Stamp Set and coordinating Perennial Petals Dies. I have loved using this bundle so many times and now it is one of the retiring bundles.

PRETTY PERENNIALS BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

I decided to use the, soon to retire, Frost White Shimmer Paint to pearlise pieces of Petal Pink, Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green card stock.

Then I used the dies to cut lots and lots of flowers and leaves.

I am pleased that the Friends are Like Seashells Stamp Set is carrying over into the new catalogue.

Now for card #2.

For the second card I used the – soon to retire – Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder to create texture on a strip of pearlised card stock.

Yay, the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set is also carrying over!

It was fun making a second card that was stepped up a little. Now it’s time to start to plan another project.

Happy stamping.

TIME FOR SOME MORE COLOUR INKSPIRATION!

Hello – thank you for popping by. I really appreciate the time you take to see what I have been creating.

Today is the end of the two week period for the #CI95 Colour Inkspiration Challenge.

No photo description available.

This is the amazing inspiration this time around!

For this challenge I decided to use the BUTTERFLY BRILLIANCE COLLECTION. I especially wanted to use the bricks die to create spaces for the three purple colours to pop through.

The butterfly has three layers, all cut with the same die from the BRILLIANT WINGS DIES. The top and bottom layer were cut from vellum and the middle layer from a scrap of Balmy Bay card stock. I stamped the edges of the wings with Versamark before adding and heating some HEAT & STICK POWDER, so that I could adhere GILDED LEAFING EMBELLISHMENT.

I used the bricks to cut six areas, on a Basic Black mat, so that I could adhere strips of Blackberry Bliss, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather behind the mat layer. This was then attached to a Basic Black card base.

The sentiment is from the YOU ARE AMAZING STAMP SET. The ‘you are’ was covered with a sticky note so that when the ink pad was used those words were left clean. The sticky note was removed and the sentiment stamped onto a scrpa of Balmy Blue card stock. Then it was cut using a STITCHED RECTANGLE DIE.

To assemble the card, I used Mini Glue Dots to hold the GOLD HOOPS EMBELLISHMENT in place before placing the sentiment onto the card front. The sentiment was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a strip from the side of the Stampin’ Dimensionals sheet to place under the centre of the butterfly. And finally, some GILDED GEMS to make sure there was a little bling.

My card is certainly much darker than the original image inspiration but I like it.

Who would you send a card, that says ‘Amazing’, to?

Happy stamping.
