TIME TO PLAY

The first of three pre-order BBBs arrived from Stampin’ Up this morning … so I had to start playing.

(For those who have not experienced SU abbreviations before – BBB stands for big brown box – although mine was really only a MBB, it’s more fun to dream of BBBs arriving, filled with goodies).

I was able to play with the Gift Bag Punch Board in the Product Playground at Convention last week, so I was really excited that it arrived today.

I used Whisper White cardstock and a stamp from the ‘I Think You’re Great’ stamp set in the new catalogue – this was our stamp set for convention. The background is stamped in Island Indigo and Marina Mist … not using ink pads or the full stamp image … how do you think it was done?

The gift bag has a square base … not quite the way the small, medium and large bags are finished … any ideas?

You may need to join in my first Tool Time class which will feature the Gift Bag Punch Board. Check out my Stampin’ Up blog for class times soon …  http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/mmmstampintime/

Before my order had arrived, I was using another stamp from the “I Think You’re Great’ stamp set and the 2014-2016 in colour markers to create a range of different backgrounds (it would have been the new 2015-2017 in colours if they had arrived … soon!)

I’m really pleased with the effects they produced.

Now, here’s a little colour play I had at Convention … I wish I had taken a pile of Whisper White cardstock with me!

As you can see – it’s amazing the way different colour combinations can give the same image such variety. I am looking forward to using the new in colours very soon!

CONVENTION – MY VERY FIRST!

IMG_0451 - Copy

I know that I have been very quiet, again  … but guess where I went?

I didn’t even post anything about my going to my very first Stampin’ Up Convention … but believe me, I was very excited!

After I had my card making frenzy over the Easter long weekend, I spent the rest of my school vacation preparing all my class work (for school) so that I would be ready to take my long service leave to attend convention.

This is the swap that I made – 50 in total … it was so much fun to make and even better when I was able to meet so many amazing demonstrators from across Australia and New Zealand as we swapped and enjoyed the three days of convention activities.

… and we all got to meet the Stampin’ Up teams from the South Pacific offices as well as the crew from Home Office, USA.

Sarah was a delight throughout Convention … and very graciously shared many photo opportunities with those of us keen on being snapped with her …

I was lucky enough to go to Convention with my upline, the wonderful Tanya Bell.

We enjoyed our time on the Gold Coast and have returned to Bundaberg brimming with great ideas for the coming year.

The new 2015-2016 Catalogue is filled with sensational new products and ideas … you only have to wait a little while until you get to have a look and begin to compile your wish lists.

Check out my Stampin’ Up blog for my class schedule soon:

SHELTERING MANGO TREE

I have been in awe of all the wonderful cards and projects being created using the Sheltering Tree stamp set, from the Occasions Catalogue.

For a while I wasn’t sure how I wanted to play with it.

As I looked at all the Autumn/Fall inspired ideas, I was drawn to the palette of orange … Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Tangelo Twist and sort of, Calypso Coral.

Then I had my ‘aha’ moment …. mangoes.

For those of us lucky enough to live in Queensland, we know that mangoes are out and about … and if you like them, you have had mango juices running down your chin and hands. (If you live in the Northern Hemisphere – you are not yet ready for cold, refreshing summer fruits!).

If you’re unlucky enough, they are falling off a neighbour’s tree and getting very, very ripe in this hot and steamy weather.

So … here is my take on Sheltering Tree …

P.S. This card was photographed on some Pumpkin Pie cardstock … it’s really not that ‘orange’.
