I’M BACK IN MY CRAFTING ROOM!

Hello and thank you, so much, for popping by. It has been almost two weeks since my knee replacement surgery and I am so happy with my progress – and, that I have started crafting again.

It is Sunday and it is time for a Global Desgin Project challenge. This week is a CASE challenge – the card, below, was designed by Artisan and New Zealander, Susan Wong.

Our brief for a CASE challenge that we can take what we like from the design and make it our own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever we like that has inspired us to make a card of our own. For me, I decided to CASE the general layout.

For this project, I decided that the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle would be perfect.

I have also been working on a card for a colour challenge. I decided to use the same colour pallette for this project.

May be an image of 1 person and text that says '#99 COLOUR NSPIRATION CHALLENGES Mint Macaron Just JusJade Jade Smoky Slate Soft Suede'

I used Shimmery White cardstock so that I could do some messy water colouring. I used the same cardstock and one of my Blending Brushes to colour the 4-5/8″x 3″ panel with Soft Suede to achieve this mottled effect. I spent some time running my fingernails along the edges of the cardstock to give it a frayed and vintage look. The edges were then coloured using the Blending Brush. The sand particles were then stamped using first and second generation stamping. Finally, I wrapped some Very Vanilla twine, from the new Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack, and tied a bow.

The shell, starfish and seaweed images were stamped using StazOn Jet Black ink for the water colouring. When dry, each image was die cut or fussy cut and thenpopped up onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like the smaller sentiment I chose for this card because the stamped and coloured images are definitely the focal points.

These are many products used to create this project – and, I am so pleased how well they work together.

What do you think? What was the last project you CASEd?

IN COLOURS

Hello and welcome. Thank you for popping by. I appreciate each of you who takes some time to see what I have been up to.

It is Wednesday – it is 5pm – and it is time for this week’s Freshly Brewed Project.

This week’s theme is the new 2021 – 2023 In Colours. We are so lucky to have so many coordinating products for these new In Colours: 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Open Weave Ribbons, Jewels, Shimmer Vellum as well as the inks, markers, blends and cardstock.

I also used the new Flowers & Leaves Punch, that is part of the Flowers of Friendship Bundle. The tags were made using the new Tailor Made Tags Dies – these are definitely becoming a favourite of mine.

The Shimmer Vellum is stunning and these flowers look amazing! They make a glistening bouquet for this Mother’sDay card. Each tag has been finished with a length of the Open Weave Ribbon.

The vellum holds its shape well when the flower is scrunched. I used Mini Glue Dots to hold the flowers together. and attach them to the tags. The tags have Stampin’ Dimensionals behind them to add some height to the card layers. The jewels finish the flowers off perfectly.

Another Mother’s Day card (that I made before the day) that I was able to add to my collection for the Valley Laneway Markets (May 1st) – I hope someone buys it for their wonderful mother!

MAke sure you pop by the other Freshly Brewed Project stampers have created using the new In Colours.

Happy stamping.

I also used the PENNED FLOWERS DIES and SCALLOPED CONTOURS DIES.

I think that before I send these cards, I will add some Genial Gems to the die cut panel. What do you think? Do they need a little zhuzhing?

There will lots of other thank you cards, made by demonstrators around the world. Check them out and get some great ideas for your own cards. I hope you enjoy hopping.

Happy stamping.
