COLOUR INKSPIRATION CHALLENGE #CI90

Oops – this post is later than anticipated. I spent the weekend making more papercraft projects for the markets next weekend. I made 30+ gift bags and coordinating gift cards. I’m looking forward to sharing photos of my stall early next week.

It has been a while since I last posted a card for this challenge. The inspiration for this colour palette is a real confectionary of colour.

I love the houses and miniature trees but the Christmas tree is not a colour I would choose.

For the challenge, I decided to use the soon to be available BLENDING BRUSHES to colour a large piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Then I chose the BUTTERFLY BEAUTY DIES to cut out the layering butterflies. Attaching ADHESIVE SHEETS to the back of the card before cutting it, made the task of layering the butterflies so easy.

The sentiment is from the ITTY BITTY BIRTHDAYS STAMP SET. I stamped it onto a piece of the cardstock I coloured. It was adhered under the lefthand side of the Whisoer White layer. It is not glued down to the card front – the ribbon is tied into a bow – that is what secures it in place – if untied, the sentiment piece can swing to the left.

The texture and weave of the POOL PARTY SHEER RIBBON is gorgeous.

Surprisingly, I didn’t add any bling to this card – I kept it more subtle.

I’m looking forward to developing my technique with the blending brushes. I think they are going to be a great, new tool in my crafting collection.

I hope that you like the card.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

These are the products I used to make this card. If you live in Australia, I would be very happy to help you order any of them.

LOTS OF LOVELY BUTTERFLIES

I recently dusted off my BEAUTY ABOUNDS STAMP SET for a card that I made during my Facebook Live on Wednesday. It was the Terracotta Pots card I posted yesterday – I used the small bokeh stamp from that set.

One thing I discovered when I opened the case was that my BUTTERFLY BEAUTY DIES were still inside the stamp case – and I haven’t used them in a long time. So, that inspired me to use them today.

I wanted to see how the butterfly die cuts would look when placed over some Designer Series Paper. The FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON 6″x6″ DSP provided lots of options. Finally, I chose the Bumblebee floral.

The two butterflies layers were die cut using, two of the 2020-2022 In Colours, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider cardstock. Before I die cut the butterflies layers I placed ADHESIVE SHEETS to the cardstock so that I didn’t need to add glue – that worked a treat!

I am pleased with the way the floral elements fill different areas of the butterflies in such varied ways.

To fit the butterflies onto the card front, I needed to cut the DSP at angles.

The sentiment was chosen from the BEAUTY ABOUNDS STAMP SET and stamped in Cinnamon Cider onto Very Vanilla before being cut using one of the STITCHED RECTANGLE DIES (I used a ‘two-step’ die cut – I cut out the shape and then laid the die on top of the piece a second time, locking the die over the stitched elements to create a shorter length).

Some Cinnamon Cider Ribbon was placed under the sentiment piece before being popped up onto dimensionals. The final touch – a few 2020-2022 IN COLOUR ENAMEL DOTS.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the second half of the sentiment onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and also stamped one of the butterflies from the stamp set. The same butterfly was stamped onto the envelope.

I am so pleased with how this card turned out!

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.
