NO SNOW HERE!

While it is still Spring in Australia, it is feeling more and more like Summer every day.

So it was refreshing to make a card for the holiday season using some of the FEELS LIKE FROST DSP. At least I can look at the paper and think cool thoughts.

We did enjoy some snow and cold weather last year when we were in Moscow, St Petersburg and Helsinki. I wish I had gum boots (or wellingtons) to traipse around in the snow and sludge.

The boots and umbrella, from the UNDER MY UMBRELLA STAMP SET, were fussy cut. Who wouldn’t love a shiny pair of polka dot silver boots and matching umbrella.

The photographic image, on this DSP, beautifully captures this wintery scene. I particularly like the bokeh light effects.

I used the DSP offcuts to trim the envelope and card insert.

A little SILVER METALLIC EDGE RIBBON wrapped around the DSP and a stamped and die cut greeting popped up over the ribbon finishes this quick and easy card.

Who would you send it to?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

ANOTHER COFFEE CAPSULE GIFT BOX

When I saw the colour of the Starbuck’s coffee capsules, I wanted to use some Cajun Craze card stock to make a gift box to hold them. I also wanted to use a sheet of DSP from the GILDED AUTUMN SPECIALTY DSP PACK – the piece with a Cajun Craze background and copper foil features.

The gift box holds three capsules.

I used the PRESS ON STAMP SET for the elements on the front of the box. The take away cup was fussy cut and an extra layer, stamped with coffee beans, was added.

I enjoy making gift boxes – do you? What is your favourite style of gift box?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

SECRET SANTA GIFTBOX

When I was teaching, I enjoyed being involved in the fun of Secret Santa. It usually involves picking a name out of ‘the hat’. Over the period of a couple of weeks, I would then leave a number of small, inexpensive surprises on the recipient’s desk.

For this Secret Santa gift, I made a box that would hold a number of Starbuck’s coffee capsules.

I used one of the house images from the COMING HOME STAMP SET. It was stamped twice, using Memento, before colouring them with Blends – Balmy Blue, Sahara Sand and So Saffron.

Balmy Blue was the perfect choice because it matched the colour of the pencil I used as the carrier. Along the sides of the box I added some of the CLASSIC CHRISTMAS 6″x 6″ DSP. Because the gift box is actually 6.5″ long, I cut the DSP in half to leave a gap. The gap was covered with a square piece of the card stock and a stamped and die cut coffee cup.

Three of the coffee capsules were secured in place by using some dimensionals.

The next gift box I make will hold only three capsules.

I would like to think that most people would be happy to receive this as a Secret Santa gift. Would you?

Do you take part in Secret Santa at your workplace?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.
