GLEAMING GIFT BAGS

Last Wednesday, I watched a Facebook Live from Ronda Wade. She showed how to make her style of gift bag.

She used two 12″x 12″ sheets of DESIGNER SERIES PAPER. Both pieces are scored the same way – 1″ on one side and 3″ on the other three.

I found that if I moved the three sides just slightly away from the SIMPLY SCORED SCORING TOOL edge, this piece would slip just over the top of the other half of the gift bag. This gives a snug fit and makes it sit well when adhered.

The 1″ edge is folded so that the reverse side of the DSP shows. This is then adhered in place.

The three sides were then burnished with a bone folder. On the lower edge (opposite the edge with the 1″ folded down edge), the two 3″ crease lines that run upwards then need to be cut.

I decided to use the STAMPIN’ SEAL + because it is such a strong adhesive.

I used the GLEAMING BRIGHTLY SPECIALTY DSP for these gift bags.

I made four gift bags in the same size.

I made a coordinating gift card for each and stamped Christmas Wishes from the BANNER YEAR STAMP SET.

The sides are pressed in firmly at the top and gently folded in down the length of each side.

After these bags, I decided to start experimenting with measurements.

This slender gift box used just one sheet of DSP cut in half. The pieces were scored at 1″ on one narrow edge of each piece. The remaining sides are scored at 2″. The bag measures 2″ in both width and depth. It is 11.75″ in height.

This bag also uses just one sheet of DSP. The 1″ top edge is scored and the sides are scored at 1″. The bag measures 4″ in width, 1″ in depth and 11.75″ in height.

I’m so pleased that I caught Ronda’s Live presentation. These are going to be my go to gift bags!

The bulldog clips are not from Stampin’ Up!®. They were from a stationery store.

I’m sure that whoever buys these, at my market stall in two weeks, will find lots of perfect goodies to fill them.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

MINI ALBUM

I have had a pack or two of the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON MEMORIES & MORE CARD PACK and the coordinating CARDS & ENVELOPES sitting in my cupboard unused until now.

For this project I used half of the envelopes and Memories and More pack to make a mini album.

I trimmed the envelopes down to 6.25″ x 4″ and kept the flap in tact. On my Facebook Live, yesterday, I shared how I made this album.

If you click on the image below, you can watch the Facebook Live I did on Wednesday showing you how to make it.

The album cover was created using two 6.25″ x 4.25″ pieces of Magenta Madness card stock. These were then covered with some of the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON 6″x 6″ DSP cut to 6″x 4″. A strip of the DSP was also used to create a spine covering, although it was cut in half to allow it ‘stretch’ to the top and bottom of the album. The gap was easily filled with a length of IN COLOUR RIBBON.

When opened, the album reveals the five In Colours.

Each section opens out allowing space for photos to be added and journaling completed.

Each section has a pocket with a piece of Whisper White card stock slipped inside.

I am very pleased with the end result.

Check out my video to see how to make your own.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

I decided over the weekend to plan projects, for my Facebook Live today, using the PAINTED POPPIES and PEACEFUL MOMENTS BUNDLES – because today is Remembrance Day.

Yesterday, I shared a thank you card that I prepared ahead of my Live.

Today, I want to share a decor item that I am so very happy with.

Rob and I have been very fortunate in our travels to visit many sites, in Europe, associated with our very brave ANZACs. So, for me, remembrance is an important part of being Australian.

I made lots of poppies and used 12 of them for this project. I adhered the leaves under the poppies and speckled some RED RHINESTONE BASIC JEWELS on the background.

The shadow frame is from Ikea – I used the last one I had in my stash, so I will need to buy some more soon. These frames are perfect to showcase all sorts of paper crafted projects.

The REMEMBER banner was made suing the PLAYFUL ALPHABET DIES and the BANNER PICK A PUNCH.

As I mentioned before – I am very pleased with how this project turned out.

What do you think?
