PINWHEEL TOWER GIFT BOX

Hello and welcome to today’s project post. Thanks for popping by.

I decided to make another Pinwheel Tower Gift Box. For this one, I chose the Sweet Stockings Suite to decorate it.

This gift box will be filled with treats for my brother’s two Blue Heeler dogs, Rudy and Bosch (my fur ‘nephews’).

I have lots and lots of photos to show you all aspects of this gift box card. At the core of the card is a 1-1/2″x 4-1/4″ ‘tower’. Then, four 3″x 4-1/4″ panels are adhered to each of the four sides of the ‘tower’. I used four different coordinating colours for the pinwheel to match the Designer Series Paper.

When the card lies flat, you can see three different cardstock colours.

The first panel features the very cute “Santa Paws is coming to town”. This was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Basic White cardstock and cut with one of the Tailor Made Tags Dies. I tied some Basic Black and Basic White twine, from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack, through the tag opening.

The second panel features Christmas stockings DSP. The larger panel has a gift card holder.

On the narrower side panel I added the stamped, coloured and die/fussy cut stocking and dog. I used a photo of Bosch to try to colour the stamped image to look like him – and, it’s a pretty close resemblance.

The third panel features the Christmas lights design and a pocket for the gift tag. The tag was cut using one of the Tailor Made Tags Dies and was stamped using with to/from from the Banner Year Stamp Set. I threaded a length of Bumblebee 2020 – 2022 In Colour Ribbon. and secured it by tying a bow with Basic White Baker’s Tine.

The narrow panel has a stocking that was cut from the DSP using the Stocking Dies. It also has three stamped, coloured and die cut candy canes.

The final panel has more stockings and some stamped, coloured and die cut Santa hats.

I am so pleased with the way my gift box adaption of the Pinwheel Tower Card has turned out.

Here are the instructions so you can try it yourself.

If you make one of the gift boxes I hope that share it with me.

Until tomorrow, happy stamping.

PINWHEEL TOWER GIFT BOX

Hello and welcome to Monday! I am so delighted that you have taken some time out of your day to pop on by to see what I have to share with you today.

There are so many Pinwheel Tower cards that I have seen recently – and, they are amazing. For me, I decided to take it a step further.

My question was – how can I convert this into a combination card and gift box?

After a few prototypes (unsuccessful and slowly becoming successful), this is the end result.

I have lots and lots of photos to show you all aspects of this gift box card. At the core of the card is a 1-1/2″x $-1/4″ ‘tower’. Then, four 3″x 4-1/4″ panels are adhered to each of the four sides of the ‘tower’. For this project I chose the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper and colour scheme for this tower.

The first dies reveals the Christmas greeting, before moving onto the second ‘wing’.

The second side includes a gift card holder. The exciting thing about this project is that each side features two DSP designs.

This side features a pocket to slide a “to:” and “from:” tag into. (Oops – I didn’t remove the splotch of dried glue from the pocket – it is clean now!). The Tailor Made Tags Dies were perfect for this side of the card.

This image shows the ‘ribbon belly band’ I made to hold the top and bottom box flaps in place. The Specialty DSP is just so gorgeous and I love this non-traditional colour scheme for Christmas.

This is what the gift box looks like with top and bottom flaps open – imagine the gift has been removed. The card can now be folded flat.

The Christmas greeting is from the Holly Jolly Wishes Stamp Set and was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink before being cut using one of the Hippo & Friends Dies. Because the card needs to be folded flat, the greeting was glued directly onto this layer.

The next few photos will give you a chance to see the ribbon ‘belly band’ in a little more detail. The flowers were cut, using the Merriest Frames Dies, from the Snowy White 12″x 12″ Velvet Sheets. Then I used Blending Brushes to add a light colouring of Blushing Bride and Just Jade to these elements. I used Mini Glue Dots to hold them all together. Then I attached a few Elegant Faceted Gems to the centre of the flower.

I cut a length of Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon in half, frayed it a little further and then tied it through the hole in the tag.

Although there is a place for a gift to be popped insode the ‘tower’, it is always great to have a place to include a gift card.

And, this is the last panel fold. I love the way that each time the card is folded flat the Specialty DSP is featured.

And, now you get a sneak peek of some of the new products from the July – December Mini Catalogue. The ‘old’ works so well with the ‘new’!

So, what do you think of my Pinwheel Tower Gift Box Card? It’s a hybrid!

So until my next post, happy stamping.

MERRIEST MOMENTS – CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Hello lovely crafters! Welcome and thank you so much for popping by to see today’s project. Well, it was actually my Facebook Live project from Thursday.

With the new July – December Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration Brochure about to launch, I wanted to share some more of the amazing new products coming your way. I also wanted to show how these new products corrdinate with Annual Catalogue products.

For this project I used the Merriest Moments Bundle, as well as the Gold 12″x 12″ Shimmer Vellum and Gold 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon from the Blackberry Beauty Suite. I was so pleased with how well these new products coordinate with the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This is the sample card I made before my Facebook Live. After making this version I made some slight adjustments to the card I made during my Live. For this card I used a Shaded Spruce card base. Then I took a slightly smaller piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock and embossed it using the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder.

A length of the Gold Shimmer Ribbon was tied and trimmed before being wrapped around this embossed layer. The ribbon was secured on the back of the cardstock and then glued to the card base.

I used the outline die, from the die set that is part of the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder, to cut a piece of the Expressions in Ink Specialty DSP. The next step was to cut a piece of the Gold Shimmer Vellum using the more detailed outline die and rectangular die, as you can see. The remaining rectangle gold vellum piece was then reduced in size before the Christmas sentiment was stamped in Jet Black StazOn. This piece was adhered to a slightly larger piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock and popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This collection of layers was then attached to the card using lots of Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped one of the leaves images onto the card insert and envelope.

The card I made during my Facebook Live yesterday was very similar to the sample card I have already shared. However, there are a few differences. Can you spot them?

The differences include – cutting and embossing the Expressions in Ink layer; Stampin’ Dimensionals on the DSP layer only around the central rectangle area (none around the edges); using Adhesive Sheet rather than Stampin’ Seal+ to adhere the gold vellum stamped rectangle to the Shaded Spruce rectangle layer; and no Gold Shimmer Ribbon on the second card, instead some Gold Metallic Pearls.

I think that I prefer the second card! What do you think? LEt me know which of the two you prefer.

In recent years, I have been sending a bundle of Christmas cards to my sister for her to send to friends and family. So I decided to decorate a C6 Acetate Box to pop some Christmas cards into and send to her. One of these will amke their way into the box.

I won’t explain what I did to create the bellyband for the acetate card box – I am very confident that most of you will be able to look at the image and “deconstruct” the products and process.

I may not be able to show you products as they appear in the new Mini Catalogue, but I can share this image of some of the ‘new goodies’ that I used for these projects.

I really love the way the Shaded Spruce colour works so well with the Gold Glimmer Vellum and the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Hmmmmmm – yes. I’m happy with these projects. LEt me know what you think!

Until my next post, happy stamping.
