HOW TO USE THE SNOWMAN HUGS STAMP SET TO MAKE A VERY CUTE CHRISTMAS CARD

There are always loads of gorgeous, new Stampin’ Up!® stamp sets and products each year for Christmas.

Most of the Christmas products are beautifully designed for a northern hemisphere Christmas but I am always drawn to those that suit a warm and summery Christmas experience.

So today, my project features the very tropical Snowman Hugs.

I chose the snowman wearing the hibiscus shirt and panama hat for this card … and, it was so much fun to colour!

I used my Stampin’ Blends to colour the snowman. The colours I used were Balmy Blue, Bubble Bath, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twiat, Pecan Pie and Pumpkin Pie.

After stamping and colouring the snowman I used the largest circle, from the Stylish Shapes Dies, to cut around it.

I used a Balmy Blue cardbase and added two smaller panels – a panel of Basic White that I flicked Balmy Blue ink across using the Blends pen and a panel of Beautiful Bokeh 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper (this DSP is available from January).

Positioning the smaller panels at different angles creates a wonderful impact to the front of the card.

Before securing the snowman circle to the card front I took two lengths of Iridescent Striped Trim and coloured each using Balmy Blue and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends.

I looped these ribbon lengths and secured them to the back of the circle before popping them on the card front, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting, from the same stamp set, was stamped onto a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist card and cut using one of the banner dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I added a dimensional to the left-hand side of the banner and some adhesive to the right before adding it to the card front.

I added a strip of the DSP to the card insert and a panel to the back of the envelope.

Finally, I coloured some of the white sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio with my dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Pen and added them to the card.

For the rest of the week I will be sharing projects I have made using some stand-alone stamp sets (they do not come in a bundle or suite) from the upcoming January – April 2025 Mini Catalogue.

Until then, happy stamping.

If you live in Australia, you can order any of the products I used to make this card by going to my online store. As you read through this post, you will see the products I used for this project. The new items are available from January 7th.

SURFING SANTA FINDS HIMSELF ON A FRIDAY FUNFOLD CARD

I think this is one of easiest funfold cards to make.

Using a standard card base fold it in half and burnish the fold using a bone folder. Then fold the front panel of the card base in half back on itself and burnish it also, creating a little Z style fold.

The card base is Azure Afternoon and I used some of the Brights 6″x 6″ DSP in the same colour to fill the panels.

For the white panel I used the largest of the circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut two.

The Santa image was stamped on one circle then coloured, sporting more of a tan this time.

I cut around the bottom of the surfboard so that it could be popped up over the stamped waves image.

Inside the card, I added two Basic White panels and stamped some waves and a sun on one of them.

To finish the front of the card I added a small square die cut greeting and some Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots.

A sun was stamped on the envelope as well.

Next week I will likely start sharing some projects using new products from the upcoming January – April 2025 Mini Catalogue … I’m so excited by the goodies that have arrived with my pre-order!

Until then, happy stamping.

TIME FOR A 3D GIFT BOX WITH A WAVE INSPIRED

As I was stamping the wave image, for yesterday’s project, I had an idea start to develop in my mind.

I wanted to see if it would create an interesting pattern if rotated around a central point – so, I began experimenting.

And, this is the result.

I cut a piece of Basic Thick White card, measuring 5″x 5″, and then lightly marked the card into quarters.

The wave image was stamped around each horizontal/vertical quarter and then stamped between each of these images. The resulting pattern has 8 wave images rotating through the central point.

The Azure Afternoon gift box measures 5 1/2″x 5 1/2″x 3″. The lid is only 1″ deep.

Across all sides of the lid and box base I added panels of Azure Afternoon striped DSP.

The greeting is from the Iconic Imagery Stamp Set and was heat embossed in WOW Black Embossing Powder and cut using one of the Iconic Imagery Dies.

A few Mini Glue Dots and some strategically positioned Rainbow Dots were the perfect way to attach the greeting to the card front.

Tomorrow I have a slightly more tanned surfing Santa card to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.
