NOW FOR TODAY’S PROJECT

Thursdays are dedicated to 3D projects. I hope that you like this one.

I found a gorgeous jar of vanilla bean infused honey and new it would be perfect for this project.

The Online Exclusive bundle, Furriest Friends, was a perfect complimentary product to use for this gift ‘box’.

The box base started as a piece of 8 1/2″ x 8″ Daffodil Delight cardstock. It was scored at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″. The 8″ side was scored at 2″.

The 6″ front of the box was lowered by 1″, to 5″, and the sides angled up to the 6″ point.

This piece of DSP was cut into three panels to the front and sides of the box. I used Multipurpose Glue to adhere them into place. Then, using Stampin’ Seal+, I formed the box and adhered the base into place with Multipurpose Glue.

I stamped the honey eating bear image, from the Fluffiest Friends Bundle, in Crumb Cake and then used Stampin’ Blends to colour him. i used the Medium (SU500) and Medium Deep (SU300) colours.

The bear, grass, branch ad hive were cut using the Fluffiest Friends Dies. They were then adhered to the front of the box.

I partially covered the greeting stamp with a Post it note, inked it and then removed the note. The greeting was then stamped onto a thin strip of Basic White card. A small strip of dimensionals was used to lift the greeting up giving some height to the front of the box.

Tomorrow is Friday and that means a Fun Fold Card day.

Until the, happy stamping.

BEE MINE PROJECT #3

My project today features Designer Series Paper, without a bee in sight.

Starting with a Petal pink card base, I selected a coordinating piece of DSP with florals on one side and stripes o the other.

I found the halfway point along the right hand side of the DSP and cut in from there 1 1/2″.

The flaps were folded back and burnished the adge to create a crisp fold. These were then secured in place with Multipurpose Glue.

I adhered this piece of DSP onto the card base.

By carefully aligning the DSP, i was able to cut a floral triangle to fill the space to the right.

I also cut a diamond in Basic White and stamped the greeting, flowers and stems. The diamond was attached to the card front with dimensionals.

The card insert and envelope also have flowers and stems stamped on them.

Finally, some small hearts from the Adhesive-backed Hearts & Flowers embellishments were added.

Tomorrow is Thursday and I have a 3D project to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.

TUESDAY TIPS & TECHNIQUES

Each Tuesday I will share some tips and techniques to use with the featured products. The Bee Mine Suite gives us a chance to refine two step stamping.

The stamp set includes the body of the bee and then its stripes. Because the stamps are photopolymer, it is so much easier to accurately align the two images.

Yesterday’s card included a bee that only used the stripes and wings stamps. I stamped Tuxedo Black Memento Ink directly onto Daffodil Delight card before punching it out.

For today’s project I chose the two step technique. I started by stamping the stripes in Memento ink and then stamped each body in a different colour directly over the black image.

I cut Basic White card into 1 1/2″ strips for stamping the five bees, and their coordinating wings, for this card. This allowed me to pass the card directly under the bee in the punch without unnecessarliy cutting more card than needed. The bees were then assembled.

This card started with a Daffodil Delight card base and a piece of Poppy Parade floral Designer Series Paper.

The leftover piece of Basic white that I cut yesterday, using the Everyday Details Dies, was used on this card. I stamped the the bee’s trail and greeting.

Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to lift this panel up from the card front.

The bees were arranged and adhered to the card.

I added three small Daffodil Delight hearts, from the Adhesive-backed Hearts & Flowers embellishments, to the card.

I added a strip of the floral DSP to the card insert and onto the back flap of the envelope.

Tomorrow I have another card ready to share.

until then, happy stamping.
