WELCOME TO WEDNESDAY & ANOTHER GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT

The stand alone stamp set (one without any coordinating dies or punch) I have chosen to use for this project is the Kite Delight Stamp Set.

The theme for this weeks #GDP336 is CASE THE DESIGNER. This week’s designer is Angela Meiritz-Reid.

To CASE a project I can take what I like from a design and make it my own. It could be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever I like that has inspired me to make a card of my own.

I decided to keep the layout and a limited range of colours.

I have gone with a white on white cardbase with one layer being embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

Instead of leaves, I stamped cloud and a kite tail images in Memento Tuxedo Black and a partial sun in Daffodil Delight.

The kite was stamped and the flowers were then coloured using the Poppy Parade Stamin’ Write Marker. The bows of the kite tail were also coloured.

After fussy cutting the kite, I looped some of the Poppy Parade and Basic White twine from the Fan Baker’s Twine pack. The kite was popped using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The birthday sentiment was stamped using Versamark and was heat embossed using white embossing powder from the Basics Stampin’ Emboss Powders.

I stamped a cloud inside the card and on the envelope.

After I took this photo, I realised that I didn’t put the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels – oops.

So, project 1 is finished for today. Another one will is scheduled for later today. It’s for the Freshly Brewed Project Blog Hop.

Until then, happy stamping.

LEARN OR REFRESH A NEW CARD MAKING TECHNIQUE EACH TUESDAY

The title says it all!

Today, I have another colouring technique to share with you. Take a pack of Soft Pastels Assortment, a palette knife tool from the Take Your Pick Tool and a Water Painter and you can do this to!

For this project I used the Every Chapter Stamp Set. I stamped this, using my Stamparatus, to stamp the image strongly using StazOn Jet Black ink. This ensured that I was able to stamp a clear and well inked image. I stamped the image on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock because I would be water colouring the image.

For this water coloured card I used the Soft Pastels Assortment. The pastel colours I used were scraped using the palette blade from the Take Your Pick Tool. The colours were scrpaed onto the largest acrylic block. Then I used the thinnest Water Painter to blend water into the craypn scrapings. Then I used this to water colour areas of the stamped image.

After stamping the image, I coloured each of the areas. I scraped many of the Soft Pastels Assortment chalks, one at a time, onto the largest acrylic block (F). Using the smallest Water Painter to convert the pastel shavings to a water colouring medium.

This colouring changed the opacity of the stamped image. After the water colouring dried, I returned the stamped and coloured card piece to the Stamparatus and restamped the image over the coloured image.

After the image was stamped and coloured, I used my Paper Snips to fussy cut it.

I wrapped a length of Granny Apple Green coloured Whispered White Crinkled White Binding Ribbon around a Basic White panel that was embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. These layers were then attached to the Granny Apple Green card base.

I added Stamin’ Dimensionals to the back of the book stack.

I added Matte Black Dots to the card front and Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the glasses frame.

The card insert and envelope were stamped with the teacup and glasses top ‘half’ of the stamp set.

It has been a long time since I first used the Soft Pastels Assortment. I love it when I ‘rediscover’ amazing products. The pastels are totally amazing for water colouring.

I look forward to sharing some other projects and techniques.

Tomorrow is Wonderful Wednesday – the day I share my blog hop and challenge projects.

Until then, happy stamping.

MEMORIES ON MONDAY

As I mentioned over the weekend, I am using stand alone stamp sets this week. Today I have a scrapbook page to share with you. I just need to find some photos to add to the layout.

I stamped my own background using the Flowing Flowers Stamp Set.

I used all of the flower images from the set and chose Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Petal Pink.

For the flower, bottom lefthand corner, I used all three colours by colouring directly on the stamp using my Stampin’ Write Markers.

The panels, for the photos, were cut using the Ornate Layers Dies.

I decided to use the Amazing Thanks Dies for the caption for this page. These dies are part of the Amazing Silhouettes Bundle but work well with just about any other stamp set.

I like the way these flowers fill the page.

Tomorrow is Technique Tuesday and I will have another colouring technique to share with you.

Until the, happy stamping.
