HIP & HAPPY HIPPO HOT TUB TIME

Today I had my first ‘play’ with the coordinating Sale-a-bration products Hippest Hippos Stamp Set and Hippos Dies. These hippos and their coordinating stamps and dies are super cute.

For my card, I decided to give my hippo a bath.

The colours I chose to use were inspired by a piece of paper from another Sale-a-bration free product, the Rings of Love12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The featured colours are Mint Macaron, Petal Pink and Poppy Parade.

I started by stamping the flower holding hippo and then used the Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends to colour her. I also used the Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend and Dark Mint Macaron Stampin’ pens.

I cut the bath tub from a scrap of Mint Macaron cardstock. Then I cut a circle from some Petal Pink cardstock using one of the Stylish Shapes Dies and gave it texture using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

As you can see, I also cut an umbrella and some flowers using Poppy Parade cardstock and bath splashes from some Mint Macaron.

Before I started layering all of these elements, I attached some Petal Pink Soft Polyester Ribbon behind the embossed circle.

The DSP panel was adhered to the Basic White card base and then I began adding and layering all of the individual pieces I had stamped, coloured and die cut.

The greeting was stamped in Poppy Parade and I cut it using the smallest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

I love the way the splashes can be spread out and around the tub.

The bath tub is such a simple shape but features some great details. I love the way different Stampin’ Up! products deliver so much to our creative journey.

This weekend I am working on developing my Instagram Reels. This card is the first one I am planning to use. I hope to have a few more projects made and ready to upload to Instragram. Then, I will blog these other projects during the week.

Until then, happy stamping.

HERE IS MY GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #GDP352 SUBMISSION

This week, the GDP team have a CASE project to inspire our creativity.

We are challenged to CASE a Susan Wong project. If have not seen Susan’s creative projects before, you really need to start following her – wow, wow, wow!

Make sure that you click on the image below and you will go directly to the GDP website to see all the projects the team have created this week.

For my CASE, I am working with colours and shapes.

I started with Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody cardstock and then used the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut the hexagonal borders. After I adhered the three borders to a base layer of Basic White cardstock, I embossed it using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.

Multipurpose Glue was used to position the embossed layer, diagonally, on the card front. When the glue had dried, I was able to trim off the overhanging embossed white cardstock.

Then I added some more die cut shapes to the card front, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting, from the Handmade Wishes Stamp Set, was stamped in Flirty Flamingo onto Flirty Flamingo cardstock. This was then cut using one of the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Before adding this greeting hexagon to the card, some Basic White Essentials Twine was looped and secured in place. Dimensionals ensured this hexagon popped up from the card front.

Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels were coloured using the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends Pen. I coloured three large and three small jewels and added them to the card.

I need to be honest and say that I have no idea what I will be creating and sharing tomorrow.

Until then, happy stamping.

SANTA EXPRESS

The Santa Express Suite is such a fun collection of new products.

SANTA EXPRESS SUITE COLLECTION (ENGLISH)

The card started with a Shaded Spruce base. Then a tied a small bow in a length of Iridescent Trim and wrapped it around a piece of patterned paper from the Santa Express 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The DSP was then attached to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Christmas greetings and images were stamped before being cut using the Stitched Rectangles Dies. A few dimensionals later and the greetings were up on the card front.

For this W card I cut a 11-1/2″x 1-1/2″ piece of Poppy Parade cardstock and scored it into 4 even sections.

I cut four 2-1/2″ squares in Basic White cardstock and stamped Santa’s engine and three carriages using Mementto Jet Black ink. Then I used a variety of Stampin’ Blends pens to colour the images – Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green, Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce, Basic Gray and Mint Macaron.

A piece of Shaded Spruce was cut and placed inside the card as a pocket for the Basic White tag to sit inside.

Using a small scrap of Basic Gray cardstock, I die cut the lttle puffs of smoke to drift from the engine stack.

A few Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels to add some bling was the final step.

Who knows what tomorrow might bring.

Until then, happy stamping.
